Wow I’m shocked at the amount of complications you’ve had lately and I’m used to seeing you constantly juggling medical complications. I’m not however, in the least bit surprised at how well you’ve handled everything. You are always so incredibly steadfast and patient. I’m constantly impressed with how you take everything on. Keep doing what you’re doing and I truly hope your recovery from all of this is faster and smoother than you expect. I hope you don’t ever feel the need to apologize for not vlogging during tough times. We just want to know that you are safe and well. Vlogs can always wait and you should never feel bad for prioritizing yourself first. Also nobody thinks for a second that you are ungrateful for not thanking them for sending well wishes. I doubt anyone expects you to keep track of packages and cards amidst all of this chaos (just days before Christmas). We’re the ones who are grateful that you are home and safe and got to spend Christmas with your family.

I can't even imagine the nightmare you've been through. I had a bad case of sepsis that I wasn't expected to survive, complete with the resulting cases of pneumonia. It was awful and I feel your pain. I am still struggling with the mental aftermath, 5 years later. I am due to start therapy soon (better late than never I guess). As far as the back drains go ... OH MY GOODNESS they suck! I could handle having a massive hole in my abdomen (with a wound vac), waking up and seeing my insides, learning to walk again like that, etc but those dang drains ... no way. I was the biggest baby about those and under heavy sedation I was apparently vocal enough to be quite cranky about it. Anyway, I am thrilled that you are doing better and made it home for Christmas. PS: try not to feel to weird about not being dressed properly for the paramedics. I was completely nude and all they had to cover me was a small paper blanket that didn't cover much. It was an emergency so they couldn't take the time to get me a blanket. So yay for the bare butts on the gurneys!

I will probably update this comment, but yes, I have had EMTs take me down using that chair, is a nightmare and you feel awful and they feel awful just like you describe... Edit: ok, now that I just finish seeing your blog, you are truly a source of inspiration like I always tell you, you didnt even owe us a blog for your surgery and here you have. It. Mental health care is vital, for me is the thing that help me keep me together. And the gofundme if we all only give 5 dollars, we can make a difference so. Don't fell bad, yes. We all sometimes have our struggles but what are 5 dollars? A coffee that you did not drink or a donut you didn't had. Or if we can't help directly we can spread the word.

You are so positive, and it is so nice to see! Thank you for sharing your story. Having EDS, Chiari, CCI, Mast Cell, and all the other Comorbodities is such an exhausting, painful journey. I am glad you have people who love you to help you, and knowledgeable doctors and specialists available- that is so important! In the area I live, in the Northwest, there are not really any doctors, or any specialists available who are available to assist with EDS or related issues, which makes things so difficult. You really have to be your own advocate with EDS! Thank you again and best wishes to you ❤

I'm so glad you're through the lot. We've discovered I have dystonia. You and I both fought for Christmas. As I struggled daily, your updates gave me a bit of joy between storms. I told my sister (who I live with and she takes care of me) that you inspired me, and I wanted to be as strong as you. She looked at me and said "the way you feel about her is how I feel about you." It kind of struck me. I have never considered myself strong. I managed through Christmas. You did too. :) I'm so happy for us. You're incredible.

Honestly, watching vlogs like this gives me a solid kick to the backside whenever I need one. I've had many miserable health issues lately and to top it off, my house was hit by a rockslide last spring, causing it to be condemned. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself for a while there. Watching amazing people like you go through worse with a smile helps me realize how insanely fortunate I actually am. Like you, I have amazing support from friends and family. That support got me through 5, long, hot months in a holiday trailer, without too much trauma. Sure, it wasn't at all fun and I would never willingly do it again, but it would have been unimaginably worse without all the help (including the holiday trailer and storage for our belongings, at no charge) I received. I can't, for the life of me, figure out what I ever did to deserve so much help, but I will spend the rest of my time on Earth trying to pay it forward. Could you even begin to imagine how much more difficult this all would have been without friends and family helping out? That was a silly question. Gratitude exudes from every fiber of your being and we can see it.

One of my best friends also broke his ankle so its interesting so see how amazing he is dealing with it just like you do, he is always making jokes about how he cant walk and people jokingly move his crutches away and he had fun with it plus I get to help him bring his stuff to classes ex. Over all seeing you guys and how well you deal with everything while keeping a smile on your face is absolutely astounding. Never stop believing that things will get better.

Hello Christina! So sorry to hear you have had such a rough go lately! I also have eds and had a spinal fusion! My lung collapsed after my spinal fusion surgery. It was a very rough recovery and I was in the ICU for a week! I had my spine fused from T1 to L2 Yes the pain from a fusion is horrendous and like you said we zebras have very High pain tolerance levels so that is saying a lot! I think you should have at least let them give you some more pain meds after your fusion surgery if you needed it! It is better to be able to get though it with the least amount as pain possible as bad pain is not healthy for you either! Your lucky they let you keep your midline my hospital would not when I went home on IV antibiotics. Sending love and healing thoughts to a fellow Zebra! You are so strong and I love your spirit! Unfortunately, KZitem has a really bad track record of demonetizing videos with any kind of medical content, and it tends to be extremely unpredictable. I agree that she should try, and patreon is great too, but it's extremely unfortunate that they're policy is (hopefully unintentionally) targeting some of the people who need the ad revenue most, as their disabilities make it more difficult to have a traditional job

She's been telling her Subscriber/Idols that she's been getting a PICC LINE for over a YEAR ...and really wants a IV PORT which she claimed just a week ago that the doctor decided that she was NOW GETTING an IV PORT....but as someone that has a PORT, you don't WAIT MONTHS for a PICC LINE or WEEKS for an IV PORT. Welcome back beautiful ❤ gosh it's been alot to go through... :-( I feel for you much.... It actually triggered me a bit emotionally as it reminded me of what I went through this last year in hospital after a huge surgery that went pear shaped... BUT that's natural... we are human & care for each other which sometimes makes us feel each others pain... My thoughts are with you sweetheart & all of your family. You are one tough cookie & will make it through this ordeal & life will go on as it does... It does take an emotional toll on you & I hope you find someone who can support that part of your recovery too. You will prevail as you always do... no doubt about that!!. I donated a tiny amount & figured something is better than nothing.... NZ dollars don't go far unfortunately & medical stuff is costly over here too. Some things are covered by our hospitals here but there is a lot that's not...But I guess I hope if everyone donated a tiny amount it might still add up to something decent eventually. Keep smiling beautiful ❤ and when you can't know that's totally ok too. (Just like the clouds block the sunshine, they move eventually & the sun shines through again) Big hugs, wishing you a good recovery whatever that looks like & whatever time it takes.... Christina! I’m so happy that you’re back home and healing! I’m sure tons of other people have suggested this, but you can do online therapy through sites like betterhelp. It would be so much easier for you to video chat with a therapist! Good luck ❤️❤️❤️

So good to see an update. So sorry that this last month has been such a rough road. You need to take time for your health to get better and take care of you. Don't know if this will help you, but I saw this message on facebook and for those with chronic illness I think it helps. The message is " Staying positive doesn't mean you have to be happy all the time. It means that even on hard days you know that there are better ones coming." Prayers for this nextyear to be better you.
