I was waiting for #5; that tinnitus is pretty similar to mine. Note that wearing hearing aids does drop the level of it, I have moments scrabbling to put them in to quieten the waterfall in my ears. Also be careful of listening levels. If you have hearing loss, your hearing threshold is higher, but you don't get any more headroom. On the subject of your environment; a pleasantly lit and comfortable environment is good not only for your eyes but your mood.

I would also advise avoiding loud environments in general. I have had temporary ringing after walking out of a stadium after loud sports matches. I stopped watching live sport.

An excellent reminder, Andrew. Thank you for this. I know the temptation to stay on a recording *just a little longer* is great, but it's rarely worth it.

Great advice. I've generally taken good care of my hearing - never been to a really loud concert, despite being in the radio biz. Practiced with rock bands a bit in my early 20s. Thankfully, only a minor bout with tinnitus a few years ago, after practicing pistol shooting without ear protection. (Don't do that.) It took about a year to subside. Resting the eyes, periodically focusing on distant objects, and eye muscle exercises, like rolling the eyes clockwise for a while, then counterclockwise, can help alleviate eye strain, blurred vision.

Essential video, Andrew. I'll be sure to share this one with my people. I once shot a shotgun (one of a small handful of times) and it forever affected the hearing in my right hear. It's okay on a day to day basis, but any sudden, loud sounds can deafen it for several minutes. We don't use earplugs NEARLY enough.

Eye strain, ear strain, repetitive strain from bad posture & constant mousing when editing, butt/back/neck strain from long hours sitting in the chair, they're all very real. Stay healthy folks. I'll drop a link over in the Discord to a free online hearing test that I really rate, whilst not as good as an audiologist it's perfect for daily self monitoring over time. e.g. for me it confirms a 10% drop in frequencies above 4kHz between fresh "morning ears" & tired "end of day ears" - that's big enough to need factoring in when critical listening matters.

Always helps to get a reminder of this. I know it sounds kinda weird, but with how easily people forget to take care of themselves, the reminders really help.

You could also add finger RSI and wrist RSI if you do a lot of editing. Ages ago I used to play a lot of computer games and I got pin prick pains in my fingers. I had to give up computer games.

Gah!!! You're _totally_ right on that! I should have tossed that in there, being that I just went through a period of RSI / CTS myself!!
