Okay you want suggestions for V (real name Kim Taehyung). Here's a little info about V. He's a vocalist and has the deepest tone out of the four. You've listened to Jimin who has the highest tone. V's tastes lean into Jazz and R&B. His album Layover (which just came out) has 5 songs. I love all the songs so much. I'll pick two of his new solos and two solos from BTS albums. I'll include MVs and lives for each of them if they have them. Oh V has a Tiny Desk for his album it's only 11 mins and gives you three songs from the album: Love Me Again, For Us and Slow Dancing with a live band. kzitem.info/news/bejne/yLCQzppqnKZmY44 First the two songs from his album, only the MVs and Tiny Desk have translated lyrics: Slow Dancing MV: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xn9mz4iIjGJ5lG0, time stamp for the Tiny Desk 4:20, normal live kzitem.info/news/bejne/yXuvk2abgqKQn4I Love Me Again MV: kzitem.info/news/bejne/qY-w34Z-enp7n20, time stamp for the Tiny Desk 0:02, normal live kzitem.info/news/bejne/qYCP4IWeipN8in4 The songs from BTS albums: Stigma (this only has a live no official MV): kzitem.info/news/bejne/wndqm2efs4KUrG0 Singularity MV: kzitem.info/news/bejne/0W6k1nh9a6edfoY, live version: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rYaY3GqvgZuegIo

I know one of the songs of his album will win and that's ok hehe hope eventually you'll get to hear Singularity though! great song and great lyrics

"My beginning was poetry. my one and only strength and dream that kept me going." RM is a lyrical genius. In Korean the word for firework is flower of fire, he uses the metaphor of the firework to represent his success- soars and flames but quickly dies, whereas his desire is to stay grounded and live like a wild flower. The whole album is a reflection on his twenties and his response to the success he sought and achieved, but also the consequences of living with the fame of that "over sized life".

Yeah RM is a lyrical poet indeed. I feel that international Armys can't always truly appreciate his music as so much is lost in translation. Their song "Ddaeng", available from Skundcloud, is a masterpiece of word play and I absokutely adore it but so hard to explain it to my friends who dont understand Korean. Through all the seriousness he portrays, I also feel that there's a side of him that is very innocent and almost childlike in a way. Plus he is legit a bit of a genius with IQ of 148.

Another thoughtful and on point reaction! Youjeen is the lead singer of a Korean rock band that started in 1997 called Cherry Filter - a pop rock punk band (on the side can listen to my fav song of theirs called UnderWoman) So she is kinda a legend in that scene in Korea. He chose her specifically for her cutting vocals. The venue here he also chose because when he was younger this was where all the cool bands and rappers would perform and he always wanted to perform there, so checking off a box for him. RM is literally a genius, and his thoughtfulness of every lyric he writes is just amazing. Our leader Kim Namjoon is a beautiful person. Great one again guys! 💜

Yes. The point about RM's word play is hard to make or to appreciate if you are not Korean. The best and most succinct example I can think of is in Persona, a song in which he repeatedly asks Who the hell am I? and enunciates the term PersoNA! Persona is of course the open face you present to the world, how you want the world to see your "I am". NA is in fact the Korean word for "I". I knew there was a reason For "PersoNA", and then I learned about this. It's a very 'simple' example but typical of how RM uses word play not only in Korean, but between Korean and English to layer meaning and impact in his lyrics. That is exactly what poetry is.

Copy from doolset for more explanation on the word flowerwork: The Korean word for fireworks is 불꽃놀이 (pronounced bulkkotnori), which is a composite word of 불꽃 (bulkkot; flame) and 놀이 (nori; play, amusement, or recreation). 불꽃 itself is also a composite word of 불 (bul; fire) and 꽃 (kkot; flower), making it the *flower of fire*. The Korean title of this track “들꽃놀이,” pronounced deulkkotnori, is therefore a wordplay of bulkkotnori (불꽃놀이) with wildflower/flower of the field (들꽃) replacing flower of fire (불꽃).

I'd like to add here that the way I interpret flowerwork vs firework is that BTS' career is explosive, loud and fiery in the sky like a firework. Fully of energy. But outside of that, Namjoon is just a regular guy, living quietly and grounded like a wild flower. And from what I gathered from his different interviews, while BTS is on hiatus, this is where he wants to be. Just a regular wild flower, thriving quietly on the ground.

His first solo stage was being a headliner for that hip-hop festival All Force One back in like 2015. He could bring anyone he wanted as a guest and he chose Suga and J-Hope, they performed a few rapline songs like Cypher. But it was an RM solo moment and he performed a lot of songs from his first mixtape, as well as songs like Buckubucku. It's a pretty iconic RM stage that somehow doesn't get that much attention, kinda sad.

As a leader he has a lot of resposibility and the heaviest burden. Namjoon needed to lay them down for a while and explore more of who he is now before he goes back to it. That is also a promise in this song. Some of the more recent "scandels" were about him: - the monk that went to the press to talk about what he and Namjoon talked about in private (despie Namjoon having donated here for years) - the railway person that looked up his private information and gave it to friends so they could secretly meet him (and once did in themselves) that was fired for it - the IG post about a song where a lyric was taken out of context as Muslim hating - which he refused to apologize for as the song was about a gay, black rapper confesing to his taxi driver about his one-sided love he struggled with People are not easy to please and he understandbly hates the fast judgement and so has it always been - even more so that you should expect. He has said about why he admires art/artists so much that it is because it/they is/are eternal and far longer appreciated than most music/musicians.

Glad you are checking out live clips! This is from an entire concert at RM did at Rolling Hall. And you guessed right about Youjean! She is a rock vocalist from a very famous 90's rock band called Cherry Filter. You were also spot on regarding the lyrical interpretation. RM has said he sometimes wants to be like nameless wildflowers in a field - rooted to the earth instead of exploding for a glorious moment and then gone. Trivia - the scene where he is standing under strings of falling fireworks was not CGI or chroma. That was a traditional Korean nakhwan nori fireworks display they set up over a pond, which was the way they have been displayed since the early 1700's at a festival that still happens every year in Haman County.

I really enjoy all your reactions ! RM is our genius poet, his all Indigo album is so amazing ! RM made up the word "Flowerwork" himself. "When I see fireworks, it happens so fast - it's so short and beautiful, but it's gone," he explained to Variety. "And seeing the fireworks, I thought, if I could do a fireworks with some wildflower - you know, not actual fireworks, because it's just a metaphor - and if I hold some flowers and throw it to the sky, it could be like fireworks. And yeah, I just made up that word." This beautiful introspective song is about RM managing his success and not getting lost in his fame. He wishes to live like a calm wildflower, staying true to who he is. Very meaningful, specially after the Festa dinner 2023, when he talk about losing his way at some point, as an artist and as the leader of BTS, having no time to grow as a person in this crazy industry. For V ( Kim Taeyhung is his real name) , my favorite song of his solo album Layover is probably Slow dancing, with his happy summer memory vibe. But the problem with BTS, as a group or as soloists, is that there is NO bad songs ! So it's always difficult to pick a favorite Lol !

Thank you for the reaction!! The usage of flowerwork was definitely intentional. The way I understand it is that rm and bts have always been up in the clouds in all the success and rm in the first verse talks about how he wants to have a sort of safe landing from this success, so instead of going up and down in flames, like a firework, he’d prefer to fall slowly and gradually and eventually return to the soil (why he lies down on the field at the end) like flower petals in the wind, a flowerwork.

It took me months to be able to listen to this track without feeling an immense heaviness in my chest with lots of tears. Even today, I just can't help but feel emotional listening. RM wrote this song when he was feeling burnout which also coincided with a really high point in his career as leader of the biggest group in the world. Esp. when he writes about having a criminal mind, I feel that guilt he had. Last year, during their annual Festa dinner he even broke down and cried...feeling conflicted about not wanting to disappoint Army and at the same time very much needing a break. Indigo itself is a masterpiece. A few of my other favorites are Yun, Still life and No. 2.

It's amazing to me how much "light a flowerwork" translates the sentiment into English perfectly. If you're not sure what it means, just think of what it means to light a firework first. Then imagine wildflowers. You got there. It's the contrast of two different kinds of beautiful things, and the desire to create beauty that lasts longer than one bright burst. Light a flowerwork - create something of everyday beauty that is simple, profound, and lasting. I love this song so much. The first time I heard it, when Youjeen came in, I stopped breathing. The pain and passion brought tears to me eyes. She's super cool. A punk vocalist - he said she was the only singer in Korea for this song. She was actually surprised he asked. I'm so glad they got to do it together live - seeing the respect between them instead is so beautiful. And the song is so personal that the intimate venue feels just perfect. And you're right - they just wanted to perform for a small room, deliberately. Her power and the sob in her delivery and his quiet intensity of heartfelt words... and given her own career, I'm sure she connected with this song too.

The guys in BTS were so young when they debuted and they worked SO hard to build their career and find success. When that success came, it was HUGE. Their impact on South Korea has been astronomical, both culturally and financially. And that success has also been truly global. With all that success, came so much pressure that had to have so hard for 7 young men to deal with. Of course, with all the positive accolades they have received, they have also received a lot of hate. There are always people who need to knock someone off the top of the hill, so they attack with no reason. They have written a lot of music talking about dealing with that pressure and also making sure they always remember who they really are and focusing on "their people," the ones who really love them. To me, this video clearly shows the dichotomy between a massively successful music career (fireworks) and the peaceful life that nature loving RM desires (flowerworks). The lyrics also touch on the subject of his public and private personas and his need to protect both of them and help them to live together. People may call BTS "idols," but they are all thoughtful and intelligent artists who love and appreciate each other, their lives, their friends, their families, and their fans. They all work together to make sure fame and success don't swallow them whole, and that they can remain the kind and talented boys who formed BTS in 2013. RM is an absolute poet and any of his songs you react to will be filled with beautiful imagery in his lyrics. Of course, the same can be said about all the members, but today is about our amazing Namjoon.

You're on point on the meaning of the song.. and also on Youjin being a rock voice, she's the vocalist of a legendary korean rock band.. RM said that he have to have her on this song, coz her voice is the only perfect one for this song.. And also, the rolling hall is RM's dream venue when he was a boy, and he did this performance just last year when he's already in the biggest band in the world.. back to his roots!!

Wild flower is a piece of art, the song is so well produced, the lyrcis are beautiful, the featuring vocals by Youjeen make the song stronger but softer at the time... Indigo is perfect, all full of colors and textures that makes it so interesenting and its always a pleasure to listen to it. I'm very thanfkfull with RM for giving us Indigo.

V's - Kim Taehyung - new album is called Layover. Every song except one (which is a variation of Slow Dancing) has a MV. And Tae has performed them all live on Korean music shows, as part of his album promotions. He has also performed three songs on Tiny Desk Concert, Korea.💜 As for song recommendations, they are all fantastic, but my two favourites are Slow Dancing, and Rainy Days. All of BTS solo projects are completely different from the others. But when they come together as a group, they blend together like components in a magic spell. And once they've all completed their solo projects - and their mandatory military service - they'll come back together, in 2025, with more refined and developed musical 'colours'.💜

Youjeen is the lead vocalist for the Korean Rock Group "Cherry Filter". RM was very intentional on every collaboration he chose for his album. She is an amazing vocalist. this song was his first release and Title Track for the album "INDIGO". There is also a Tiny Desk Concert he did. That would be such a good video for you to check out. He chose Rolling Hall because when he was young, before BTS, it was his dream to go to Rolling Hall and perform. Many Artists get their start there. Not KPOP, that's a different thing all together, but INDIE artists and Underground Rappers, which is where he started. He was a poet and an underground rapper when he was discovered. He's the leader of BTS and one of the main Songwriters. RM, SUGA, and J-Hope got this 57 year old (54 at the time) woman to love Hip Hop. I discovered them during the pandemic in 2020. Their music has gotten me through many rough times. I cried first three times I experienced this video. And I love how you nailed the meaning of the song. It has layers, but you got the main message. Rolling Hall was the perfect venue for what RM wanted. The purple wild flowers with no name are ARMY's. He wanted to connect with his fans and see their faces. He took a snap shot with them at the end. I think there was about 300 Lucky ARMY's that won a lottery to go to that venue and see him. Every ARMY got a gift from him that day. I don't even remember what it was, but BTS member love to give gifts to their fans. Also, if they know fans have been standing in lines and waiting for them in hot weather, they will send them water bottles and lunch boxes. They are like no other artists that I know of.

Joon is nicknamed the philosopher who raps. His love for art and his music is truly an inspiration. And yes he did say this was his dream venue when he was a rookie but they got big and they skipped it. So he said as a soloist he wanted to get back to his roots which is the underground rap /indie artists.

Rm is a poet and started rapping because it is poems comes to life. and this stage was his dream stage to perform at, since he was little. so he wanted to go back to his roots both lyrically and in venue. there was a lottery among army to be able to get the tickets, because everyone wanted to go. RM needed a break from all this oversized life so he made everything more intimate and small and this was his only live performance. except for a small one too at the festival without the female singer. he want to be close to the audience and speak from his heart that is what i got from this song and performance. Suga did it too with his concert witch was at a 15k-20k arena except for the stadiums they usually perform at. however they all miss the intimacy from fans and there is also better sound in a closed arena and the stage setup was only possible that way.

You guys nailed it! Firework vs flowerwork. He explained it on a Korean podcast one day and said almost exactly that- the fireworks represent his fame and the flowerwork means he’s ready to just put his feet back on the ground and enjoy a simpler life. Great reaction thanks guys!

RM once said that he pays a lot of attention how words hit ear sonically. So even being rapper he is extremely aware of how words sound. And Suga told that they are very meticulous with how they put words. And it is such a power point of BTS, cause their rap verses for all three rappers hit so good your ear, some words and moments are just pure eargasms😅 thei rap is separate instrument to be honest. And three rappers are so different.

You're right. Flowerworks is a wordplay of fireworks, it conveys the aspiration that as an artist, he doesn't want to spark then go down fast like fireworks, but live meaningfully, like wildflower (hence flowerworks). RM is a genius lyricist, a poet really, and he is very, very good at wordplay! He can switch between Korean and English to convey the best meaning of a word. Watching Wildflowers always gives me goosebumps bc of the meanings he wished to convey in the song, and also the beauty of the MV.

So glad you went with flowerwork. RM is essentially a poet at heart and his lyrics are open to Interpretation but I feel that you really got the song and the meaning of it. He has written so many songs and I struggle to think of any of them that do not have very socially and personally aware messages. He is indeed a deep thinker, is very artistic and intelligent. As for V(Kim TaeHyung) I would love for you to listen to Singularity. His new album is very chill and I love all the songs and his favorite is the title track Slow dancing.

RM is the leader of the group. He’s a lyrical genius just like Suga. He says flowerwork is a wordplay on how he sees himself. And you hit it on the head here. He says when he’s RM and performing he is like a firework. Someone who is shiny and bright and comes out performing intensely and is like bang! Then he leaves the stage and all of that intensity is gone…Just disappears. When he is Namjoon he is like a wildflower free and more rooted in his true self. More human…It’s a beautiful song and the whole Album is RM opening himself up like a book and just being vulnerable. Thank you for reacting to his song.

V RECOMMENDATION: There's no way to choose just one V song, there's too many good ones and I have too many favorites! 😂 But here's my top choices: I recommend Stigma if you wanna get the full experience of V's incredible vocal range. I recommend Singularity if you wanna experience his sultry style and the dance that made him an official member of the dance line in BTS. I recommend either Slow Dancing or For Us from his brand new album which brings us yet another genre to BTS - jazzy, romantic, emotionally longing. I'm in love with all of his work because I just love his style so much. I hope you guys do too!! 😊 Thank you both for your genuine reactions to our boys, I love our fandom so much❤

Kim Nam joon (RM) is a master songwriter and producer. He wrote many of BTS's hit songs. This song represents his closing one chapter of his life and being grateful to have achapter 2. The woman singing, Jo Yujin is a ssouth Korean legend in rock music. At their solo efforts nam joon and Suga went to artists they have idolized growing up to join them on their albums. Nam joon explained tht his life as BTS had been fireworks and feeling distant from the persona HYBE created around him. flower works is a phrase Nam joon invented. He is saying he wants his life to be a flower work leaving seeds of inspiration and able to regrow season to season of life. His lyrics are showing that the fireworks have short power in a human life, The second video is at Rolling Hill which is a famous Concert Hall in Soeul that represented musical acclaim when he was developing as an artist.

As many have said RM is a very strong lyricist. He frequently employs metaphor, simile, abstract thoughts and concepts, philosophy, and literary influences in his lyrics. It is extremely rare for a BTS song to have a clear cut meaning. There are usually layers, undercurrents, and multiple interpretations. The language barrier makes this more complex as often he will employ culturally specific ideas and concepts that Western audiences are unfamiliar with if they are direct translated without context (RE: UGH, DDAENG, JOKE, BAPSAE). He collaborates with the other members of BTS along with inhouse producers at Big Hit and other well known artists within the industry. All of the rap line typically write their own portions of their raps and add to songs, but RM especially often writes for other members within the group as well so he ends up writing and adjusting to the tone of the other members or song intentions often.

Yes, its the actual word Flowerwork and he wanted to make up that word. Youjeen is the lead singer in a South Korean Rock band called Cherry Filter. RM is what Americans would call a Tree Hugger. He loves nature, museums, art and going on hikes. He is totally different off stage than he is in his real life. Wildflower is who RM is at the core. The Venue is a place he always wanted to play at when he was young. Its like young American musicians wanting to play at the The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

All of BTS have been very deliberate in their choices for their solo albums, and have been hands-on with every aspect, from production to cover art to promotion. RM specifically chose Rolling Hall for his live solo concert because it had always been his dream venue. Back in the day, it was THE venue for underground rappers (which is where he got his start). When he joined BTS, he kind of lost out on the ability to perform there. He literally could have had anything he wanted-- Suga, for example, did a global arena tour and then booked the largest stadium in Seoul for an encore 3-night performance-- but this was exactly the venue he wanted for this intimate and personal album. 200 ARMY were chosen by lottery, and they weren't allowed to take photos or video (which are normally permitted at BTS concerts). He wanted the experience to be live and immediate for everyone there.

Something to know about RM (the Leader and 1st member of BTS) is that not only is he a respected trailblazing main composer / producer / songwriter contributor of BTS who experiments with storytelling and thoughtful composition in a style that infuses his bilingual advantage as he rhythmically interchanges Korean and English play on words, but that RM had previously considered a literary career (as a student, he had had also written and received awards for his poetry - and mind you, he has an IQ of 148 that he's not afraid to put to good use). With his added interest in music, his transition to the rap game, thereon, was seamless. Today, quotes from his well admired speeches - including one he had presented at the UN, w/ all BTS members at his side, and some of his poetry can still be found online. On a personal note, I found myself not enjoying most rap songs or the genre overall in recent years because of what I'd felt was a growing lack of depth in storytelling, where many songs were appearing redundant in the choice of topic or composition. The genre became non-relatable to me...until I stumbled upon RM/BTS - an artist who spoke so eloquently during speeches (despite, impressively, English not being his first language) as a representative of this fascinatingly talented group of guys from SK who always seem to be shape-shifting their styles/genre. On the topic of storytelling, you may also note that the majority of BTS songs aren't simplistically or predictably about love between two individuals (though at times, they may appear to be), for instance, but that they tend to be composed/written in a thought-provoking manner that welcomes wide perspectives as to its meaning. Case in point, BTS rap line song, "Outro: Tear", may easily be perceived lyrically as agonizing heartbreak presumably between two individuals, but it was actually written at a time when the group itself, well known for being uncommonly tight-knit, were so burnt out, they were considering their own break up (which fortunately, they opted not to, as they were on the cusp of hitting yet another stride of successes that only elevated their legendary status further). It's the layers BTS offer that hold interest, wherein their collective and individual artistic abilities (still growing through self-discovery) refuse to be dismissed into a realm of shallow, meaningless lack of messaging... and RM endeavors to continue surprising us in that regard. As a subscriber, I thank you for reacting to BTS. The way you both bounce off of one another, sharing your respective forte' while dissecting a given song is a fun learning experience that I look forward to:)✌🤙💜

RM doesn't get credit for his combining different styles of music/genres together. He takes so many risks that most American Music producers wouldn't let their talent try because it's not their image. He's the one in BTS that sucks you in to the story. He talks to us about inspiration, love and his dreams. Outside of BTS, he takes us to Art shows, his bike rides, and the latest books he has read. His V-lives can be heartbreaking and also he bring us into his world of producing a song. He's someone who is so special and I hope the Universe takes him under it's wings and protects him forever.

He started off winning poetry competitions at a young age in Korea and started to rap because to him it’s musical poetry. I never really liked rap much because of the terrible lyrics but BTS rap all have meaningful lyrics, their cyphers are of course them dissing their haters but some of their others are on very meaningful topics which I think elevates the rap. RM is a man of great intelligence (148 IQ) a brilliant lyricist and speaks fluent English, the leader of BTS he has spoken at the UN 3 times, BTS twice. There is so much more to this group than you can imagine. Some of his lyrics are so clever they literally astound you! So glad you are enjoying these artists because that is what they are and why they are so loved. Thank you once again for a brilliant reaction.💜
