I love Tristan’s style of teaching. He’s not intimidating at all and gives great feedback and actual constructive criticism. I’ve seen a lot of people using the guisé of constructive criticism when they’re deliberately trying to tear down someone else. I WAS ABSOLUTELY SISTER SHOOK TO THE CORE!!!!!! When he showed the video of you doing the Chandelier cover, then in person, and after the advise you could hear a ENORMOUS difference. My jaw was on the floor. It was sooooo good. I’m so proud of you. It’s so difficult admitting you need improvement especially with the pressure of 8 million subscribers and because you are so passionate. Please don’t give up don’t be discouraged you are amazing!!!

xaliim axk with that being said, are you really of any position to be critiquing someone? Just because you’re a little bit better. If you entered an actual beatboxing community, you would be hated on for being so arrogant and obnoxious even though you don’t have the skill to back it up. No ones gonna like you. Grow up, spread encouragement and don’t try to put someone down when your difference in skill with them is zero to none.

The way you shared your insecurities about singing and how the comments affected you was really generous and sincere. I mean no hate, but I didn't really connect with you until now. Sometimes I felt like your ego got in the way in how you'd handle things (like in that particular snap), but I think you were really mature and vulnerable here and it made me feel proud of you (even though I don't even know you). I really enjoyed this personal approach. As an illustrator, I relate to the embarrassment of sharing such a personal type of expression and how exposing yourself to hate can be really devastating. I hope you hold on to your love for singing and continue to have lessons. And also that you share that journey with us! :)

As a violinist I appreciated the realness and the honesty when it came to working on his technique because this is what a real private lesson is like. Every time I go to a lesson or do a competition I have to listen to the criticism and it is hard, but it makes me better because it isn't meant to be harmful, it's to make me better. I'm glad that there are more people like James who are able to better themselves by finding wonderful teachers that can uplift them by giving them advice on what they can improve because it's what makes us better people. Please, if you can take anything away from this video, it's that hateful comments and constructive comments aren't the same, and we should always aim to be the best versions of ourselves.

The entertainment industry definitely needs more people like Tristan, someone willing to tell you the truth straight up to your face but with RESPECT AND KINDESS. I think so many people would've not given up their dreams if Tristan would've advice and encourage them to keep working. *cough cough Simon Cowell could never* Amazing video ❤

Legit vocal coach. Sometimes people get so caught up into making sure they hit the right notes, they forget how important pronunciation is. I love how he doesn’t hold back he says exactly what he feels whereas a friend is not going to tell you these things because they don’t want to hurt your feelings

༺im pregnant and BTS are my baby's daddy༻ but it’s not just once in a while is it? People just need to learn to be less shit rather than saying that the person getting hated on should just accept how nasty people can be as part of the job and allow it to continue. That way nothing will ever improve
