Rachmaninov (Sergei Vasil'evich Rachmaninov) is a Russian composer, pianist and conductor. Vocalise is a singing method in which only vowels are sung without lyrics. Many composers have composed songs in the form of vocalises, but the most famous one is probably this Rachmaninov vocalise.
Originally written for soprano and piano, the composer himself produced an orchestral version and arranged it for various instruments. The song quickly spread to people all over the world, perhaps because of its sweet, sad, romantic and melancholy melody.
It is said that because this song was composed without lyrics, Rachmaninoff's beautiful melody directly entered the hearts of people around the world without thinking about various things.
