He's kinda an eponymous singer of the band to me - he sounds like a huge, angry, wounded mastodon. Then Brann is like this metal angel, the voice you fall in love with and Brent's this bluesy, raspy, "I play guitar sitting on a stool with glass of whiskey in my hand"-type of voice (and quite possibly my fav of the three).

I'm the oldest of my siblings and my youngest sister is 10 years younger than me and when I got my driver's license I was asked to help with driving her around. This was around the time that Crack the Skye came out. She heard The Last Baron one time in the car and kept asking me to play it everytime I drove her somewhere. She'd sit in her car seat and say "Play the Baron." and of course I obliged. The prog metal didn't stick with her, she listens to Top 40 radio now. But occasionally when we see each other she'll ask me to play The Last Baron.

Those triple ascending harmonies during the outro of Gigantium, the "As the snakes all go to their ho-ho-ho-ho-holes" part with the highest one descending at the end, gives me chills. Such great vocal performances on this album. I wish we could get access to the individual tracks of the vocals and instruments and listen to each piece separately. I'd love to listen to everything isolated as there are so many things happening sometimes. You can hear parts of the isolated tracks in this clip... It feels like it would be a great fit for an apocalyptic movie, whether through success or ironic loss of all hope.
