This is a great example of her harsh vocals; however, your intuition was correct that her style generally blends harsh and clean, which she does beautifully. She has a “live” take like this of Rule of Nines that is fantastic if you want to hear some singing then some screaming then some singing again. ;)

Mary Z at 3:45 is definitely me when I heard this for the first time 😆 You mentioned Court used 3 styles of distortions here. I also can't get over with the shape of her mouth when she was producing those sounds 😯 Rule of Nines one-take live performance has her clean vocals in it. Maybe that should be next 😀 Thanks Mary Z 💛

I've really tried to like Spiritbox, but the over produced music with sample replaced and sometimes full on programmed drums feels so generic and devoid of any soul it's freakin sad. The singers screams are alright, her cleans are pretty unique sounding, the music behind her however leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe I've been spoiled by listening to Jinjer where 4 people manage to sound like a live orchestra and 10 vocalists with a very varied and creative composition behind every single song.
