LOL... "This has to be Layne" It's such a fun wild ride and I'll definitely apply this to all that ails this weekend.... (There's a VoicePlay love of dubstep that they sneak in whenever....it's fun to catch whenever there's a snippet.)

I don’t know if you’ve checked it out yet, but this is a sequel to “In The Hall of the Mountain King” from last year. I wonder if Eli thought he’d ever “play” a shofar with Voiceplay. Very cool.

They brought back the Grundels from The Hall of the Mountain King. Got Rachel to go along on the ride. The BTS video was so fun and Rick Underwood and crew did their makeup magic. Layne and Tony built the forest for an episode of the Villains Lair. I bet they use it for something Halloween or Geoff does.

I love how their antics matched the music - like Rachel being seductive for Carmen and threatening for Night on Bald Mountain. Layne swooning for Romeo and Juliet. Cesar dancing the cancan...❤😊❤

In practice, VP won't file a copyright claim with YT for fair use of their performances. Technically, yes, you can get dinged on copyright by YT/Google. The arrangement and performance are both covered under copyright law. Also, technically, reaction/review falls under a fair use exception in copyright law that YT/Google chooses to ignore as they own the platform and set their own rules regarding videos that include copyright protected material.

Yes, you can in principle get copyright strikes for purely instrumental music. I had it happen once when I had Op. 28 No. 15 playing while I demonstrated a performance issue with an obscure video game. I assume it was the pianist's performance that was covered by copyright. (Composers can of course also have copyright, but only if they are sufficiently recent, e.g., John Williams; but that's irrelevant here, because that little bit of the 2001: A Space Odyssey sound track was copied note-for-note from an earlier composition.)

Yep the only reason you had issues was because of musicians and conductor.

I'm here to spread the tale. Every once in a while Voiceplay has to go back to the forest to revert to their true forms and refresh their glamours. And of course, stock up on more spells (songs) to enchant their audience! Hopefully it isn’t a problem that Rachel got away with the book

Less about copyrighted 'words', but I'm pretty sure the only song out of all of those that might still be considered 'modern' would be the one from "2001: A Space Odyssey" and all of those songs in the movie were 'classical' ands so past-copyright. Of course I COULD be wrong about that and certain songs might still have some form of updated copyright (Maybe "Carmen"?) Anyway - I believe all those songs are now considered old enough to no longer be copyrighted.

Because that made me curious, I checked and the musical piece is in the public domain. Recordings of it are not in the public domain but the music itself is in the public domain. The actual name is Also Sprach Zarathustra (by Strauss of all people-I always think of him as the Waltz guy😊).
@r3adrpro811

@@janetdwDifferent Strauss - this was Richard Strauss who wrote Thus Spoke Zarathustra. The Waltz King was Johann Strauss, Jr. His Blue Danube Waltz was in there, too. After Beethoven's Fifth Symphony!

They predate Pentatonix by about 14 years (formed under the name 4:2:Five in 1997, changed their name to VoicePlay in 2012.)
