What an awesome series of testimonies.. brings the whole era to life yet again. The Salute to camera gets me every time - brings a solid lump to one's throat!

178 ASHC "Boxcars" I was able to pay my respects to Joel's grave site in Pensacola several years ago when I visited my cousins grave at Barrancas Nat. Cemetery.. I lived in the hooch with Joel.He was a great guy. I always wanted to touch base with his family but don't know where they are located. I was a crew chief with Mike Devolder on the Charlie Lima Express and FE on the Iron Butterfly. I served Apr 70 - Mar 71.

Welcome home James. You are not only a reminder of why this country is strong, but how we got here, and why we remain. No other group can lay claim to this... only those that have wore the uniform. Thank you, Sir.

If this unit was in Vietnam it wou😢be the first aviation brigade not first aviation division. I was in the brigade when I left in may 1970.
