That is now my new favourite plane, I have mine running a Vector/Dragonlink/1.2g/7500mah liion/KST servo's and it has just shattered all records of what my other planes ever achieved. It literally thermals endlessly here, I rode one to 6000 feet and trimmed nose down for another hour before getting back down. I am now only concerned about my fatshark battery and groundstation batteries running out with just one pack in the Ranger.. 2 hours is easy.

I just received my Ranger 2000 from Banggood. I would like to use a 4S battery and ordered one, but now i see it requires a 3S. I have a M2815 1280KV motor with a 60A ESC from an old Finwing Penguin. I have mounted it to the Rangers motor mount. Do you think that this motor esc combo will work with the Ranger 2000? Steve Schlesinger Yes 22 miles would be a breeze, I am slightly restricted by mountains here, but one peak I ventured out to was 9km away, I turned for home, shut motor off and glided the whole 9k home and still had to do several circuits to wipe off altitude. My only complaint is packaging and Bang wanted to slug me over $200 shipping so I found it on ebay with free shipping and cheaper price than bang, only had minor dents in wings which came out with hot water (60°C)

It's a new version of the 757-V2 Raptor. Depends what you want. The 2000 is more of a glider and long range FPV cruiser. The 1600 is more of an all round sport flier. Personally I prefer the 1600 for it's extra sportiness. I have plenty of big gliders already

I have the 2000 and we are smack in the roaring 40's which is probably as windy and blustery as anywhere on earth, and it flies great but I use stabilzation when it's windy, I have an uphill/downwind landing runway so I must fly final leg with sharp descent and lots of speed but it pulls up fast with flaps, I would need to use an alternative paddock to land the 1600 with no flaps. In still early morning air it sits so still I sometimes think think my video has frozen..

Hi again Andrew. Help needed please. I cant make up my mind. Phoenix Evolution or Volantex ASW28? Mostly hot summer days soaring, bit of sloping. Thank you. Keith.
@AndrewNewton
6 жыл бұрын
No contest Keith, Phoenix Evolution. The ASW28 looks great but the wing doesn't work well in foam. Not the right material for a thin high aspect ratio wing in my opinion. Makes it hard to fly, stalls easily and needs to be flown fast. The Evolution is much easier to fly. Quality control in the kits is an issue, mine was fine but others have had missing bolts, and it's best to ditch the wing joining brackets and just tape the outer wing sections together.
@SomeTechGuy666

Andrew Newton but I think I will go for the FPVraptor EX, because it's fuselage is wide.

@@AndrewNewton So around 1400-1500gr (with battery and light FPV) which is not super light but quite normal for a plane of that size.

Can you recommend me any gps system for this plane? (Under $50)
@AndrewNewton

Nothing under 50, but I like the AIR3 www.multiwiicopter.com/products/inav-air3-fixed-wing-airplanes or the Omnibus F4 V1 Omnibus F4 V1 FCB - bit.ly/2goSVHV GPS - bit.ly/2go05vX

Andrew thanks for the review in the 1600 did you change the angle of trust ? my plane have tendency to stepy climb when i acelerate the motor. Then make a stall. I have change the CG thinking it was tail heavy but the problem does not disappear. any suggestion?
@AndrewNewton

That is strange, didn't require any mods on mine. It dips a little under power. Check elevator linkage is not loose, check wings and tail are seated flat in their mounts.

It's a pity then you can't just buy a pair of 2m wings for your 1600.

That would be perfect

Awww, these spell-correctors suck. I meant to comment that I will soon add one of these to my Alaska SURVEYING fleet.
