There is a volume issue, it starts at low volume and goes high.

I am not a mechanic, I am a Volvo enthusiast. I detected a leak from the back of the engine, my RPM gauge had also stopped working, upon inspection I found that the connector was broken and hanging loose. I also saw by the service records that the cap and rotor had not been changed out, the car has 107,000 miles on it. I highly recommend you Google a PDF with step by step directions on how to do this.
