In this video, I replace the timing belt and tensioner, valve absorbers (hushers) and front engine seals and show how to measure and, if necessary, adjust the valve lash by replacing shims. The valve clearance when cold is supposed to be between .3 and .4 mm.
I didn't have a torque wrench, but ideally you should. Valve cover gaskets are supposed to be torqued to 9 lb-ft. Cam cap nuts are 14 lb-ft.
Make sure to tighten down bolts during reassembly! I forgot to tighten the intermediate shaft bolt before putting on the timing cover and had to pull it back off to finish!
