Wow, yeah, maybe it would be great to change my fuel filter after almost 300k km, hehe. Thanks for the video! I will go order it right away.

It took me a while to build up the courage too but the cold may have had more to do with that that the job itself!

226,000! Just run in. Re. draining water this has become a thing for us since the local fuel stations, both supermarkets, have become famous with local garages as being the likely source of water ingress into fuel. Not sure if it's condensation in the tanks, rainwater ingress or water in the road tankers. My wife's XC60 actually stopped a minute or ss after starting and refused to restart, when the temperature was well below 0°C. Waited until a few days later when everything thawed and it started and stayed running no problem. I now have the garage check the fuel filter every time the cars are in (mine's an XC70) and they usually report water. A local tradesman who gets through a lot of diesel told where he goes to avoid this problem. We'll see next time it's in. Re. hand tight, that was lucky! Volvo spec these at (I think) 4 Nm (not sure if that is = or > hand tight) and we have needed the special remover ring in the past.

Quite it’s a great car - you have been unlucky regarding the Diesel supply that was the first time I had j changed the fuel filter in around four years of ownership, it was way overdue!
