Video is great but process is so complicated. Half of the car disassembles.

How much is it to replace the entire battery on average? We’re getting this car and I’d just like to know

Given it will most likely be upwards of 10 yrs to replace it is a bit of a hypothetical. These cars also have an 8yr battery warranty..

This is crazy complex and time consuming. Because it wasn't designed as an EV originally.

e-Golf, also not designed as an EV, is much easier. But this Volvo battery looks like the VW MEB battery.

1.7 hours to remove and replace, apparently. Compare that to a transmission or ICE engine job. The only difference is the footwells and centre tunnel hump. Otherwise, it looks pretty much standard. Cost of the pack is about $15,000US.

From what I hear, the frame was designed to serve multiple types of configurations- engine, hybrid plug in and battery.

I wonder if steps for Polestar 2 will be the same?

Man i remember designing the battery harness routings. And think how to service it later. Hard as the platform is ICE.

Good video. Honestly not any more complicated than working on a modern turbo charged car. Most of the work was done with a simple ratchet. However this is not a DIY project.

If this was designed right, everything should be accomplished from underneath. 1. Jack up vehicle 2.Remove waterproof shields 3. Remove electrical plugs and securing bolts 4. Lower battery. Done.

No, it's the petrol body shell, complete with transmission tunnel, it's a scam.

Very Nice and well done Video. Is it possible to install a 78 kw/h battery on a single motor model?

I hope my car never needs this. The chances of my local Volvo dealer putting this back together as well as the factory guys put it together seem pretty slim.

Haha yeah. One reason I'm sharing these videos is because this is EXACTLY what had to happen to my XC40 Pure Electric. I had a fault inside the main battery and they had to drop the whole unit out. Once I found these videos I thought I'd share them so others know what the process is.

Fortunately you can double check 90% of their work with a simple ratchet and extension set.

I kindly recomend to take away these videos until Volvo Cars have reached out to you. You know they are not yours and this is Volvo Cars property and you are publishing them without their consent. In simple words it is stealing.
