Assar Strömblad Good to know. Whenever I watch USA car reviews they rave about how Volvo became Hi-tec, very complicated and utterly unreliable since they were bought by Geely China. Off course that’s their perception and I have never owned Volvo to be able to testify to the contrary.

I have a 2017 S90 and its very reliable. It was a whole different story when I bought it though. The previous owner neglected it and it never got its system updates. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it with no problem. I havent had a problem since. I blame bad owners.

@@mmikee407 True. I think people saying that the turbo+superchargers are a bad combo are just saying what they have been told by others really. Also, do not forget that the things that count as problems can be both from software and hardware, and in this case most of the problems in the volvo came with the early versions of the software in the infotainment system, and even small things like a window lagging for a couple of seconds counts. These kind of problems can often be easily fixed by software updates. The problem though is that people seem to think that the problems listed on the list are serious ones, which they are usually not, and in volvo's case they instantly blame geely, which most likely has nothing to do with that particular thing.

Anubhav Chaudhary JD Power results are useless for Australia because their cars are assembled in US factories, not Sweden or Belgium like ours. 2020 will be the first time we see versions assembled in China, but the parts still come from the same suppliers so quality will depend on their assembly line, not the parts themselves. Volvo typically rates very well for quality and reliability in Europe.

SAIC and Geely are not the same company just because they are both Chinese. MG was rebirthed to sell Chinese designed and built cars. Anubhav Chaudhary lol Volvo is still produced and developed in sweden by swedish egineers mostly, with chinese capital. The chinese are not stupid, Volvo is known for the quality and safety. Geely knows they better let the swedish desing and build the car. Volvos new platform sell very well in scandinavia, and trust me scandinavians don t buy bulshits. And a lesson: avoid american ownership. Volvo and saab almost die while on hand of american car brand.
