Chinese cars will rule the world. China at this point is just building up their capabilities in terms of Manufacturing. The next stage will be that they start to go around the globe buying up all the best designers to work on their projects and at that point it will be too late for everybody else. Countries like the US and Germany that are innovating their car manufacturing will survive but everybody else will be in for a bruising.

I love it, but only question I have; why doesn't the Volvo automatically sense the terrain and try to auto-correct or stop to avoid the impending danger?

+gsxellence Actually, it does.

because there's simply not enough processing power in a car...if we really want autonomous cars, we'll need "smart roads " to talk to the car about road hazards, other vehicles, construction, etc. a few cameras on cars are great, but they can't do it alone.

weirdshibainu Volvo does not claim the XC90 has autonomous driving, but if it senses you're about to leave your lane, without your blinker on, or about to leave the road, it will warn you, then it will "bump" the steering wheel to move you back to the center of your lane.

Vitaly Tomilov "The best part - it doesn't look like China at all. I'm sold!" it's because it's Swedish =) it's only owned by china, but Sweden still design and build the cars (and crash test them as in this video)

Why blood stains on the airbags if only dummies drove in car?
