GREAT demo well done. Your pictures and video made it understandable even with the language barrier. Bravo. They both sound terrific. I'd probably say Blue for pop or indie, Green for blues or rock.

Great video well done. Bit more bottom in G12, surprised how close they were generally. Alnico slightly thinner, but nice cleans. Both pretty sweet

Have no idea how this video showed up in my feed but that tone and playing in the beginning was super nice. I don't speak Japanese, but I appreciate the enthusiasm the Japanese people have toward audio and musical equipment and how they arrive for excellence. Great playing and tone!

The blue is definitely a little better, especially on cleans. I do like the mids a little more with the green. Though I tend to always feel this away when comparing Alnico vs Ceramic.

Definitely should try to put one each into a 2x12. Or some other alnico to match either a good greenback or creamback. These two profiles to be heard here would really be nice together if they do manage to mix well next to each other. Surprised how much better I like these Mayer licks from a Gibson and a Vox, and I am fan of the originals.

Buy one with Greenbacks and use the money you saved to build an extension cab with Blues in it. That was my plan when I got an AC15 but the Greenback sounded so nice I never bothered.

There is no way I would pay the premium for the Vox blues in the HW amps. There is a reason to upgrade to the HW series, which I am thinking about doing, but, just as I did with my AC15C1, I would rather replace the stock green with a UK made Celestion branded alnico blue at my own expense rather than pay the insane markup that they place on blueback loaded amps.

I see 12" Alnico Blue's selling for $279. You'll need 2 of them. AC30HW2 is $1,899.99 and AC30HW2X is $2,179.99. You'll pay far more to upgrade them yourself than to pay the markup for the 'X' version.

@@dagus834 vox blues are made in China not the UK, and when you factor in how much you can sell the stock greenbacks for, I would upgrade on my own dime if I had to do it again.

You need to watch the whole thing before making a judgement. The Blues need to be pushed to shine. I agree that they don’t sound as good as the G12M-25 in 15w mode but in 30w mode they romp ahead and the Greenbacks sound a bit dull/dead in comparison. The Blues then compress and fill out and the scoop and fizz vanishes. It’s the same with my AC15HW1X. They need volume and then sound fantastic.

@marcospintor1333

It’s not thinner, it’s more open and clear. If you’re just playing power chords then yeah it doesn’t matter. But if you’re playing normal chords, you want that clarity

Just seen this. I have a 2015 AC15 hand wired and vacillated over choice of speaker. I went with the Blue but sort of regret it. I also have an early 90s UK made AC30 with Blues and there's really no comparison - they are supreme! The new Blues (with the new AC 15 ) have better definition, as per your test, but sound a little brittle and stiff. That could just be a new speaker needing to be broken in. But the new GM12' has a warmer, mid range sound and cope with an over driven mode better. Actually, IMO, the Hot/Cool switch on the AC15 is totally superfluous - the 'Hot' sound is awful! with either a Strat or PRS etc. Why didn't they just re incarnate the original AC15?? Thanks for posting I couldn't understand a word you said but I sort of got the gist of everything. Cheers

Greens have a bit more girth to the low-mid range of the speaker. I feel like a tiny bit of eq would get you 99% of the way to the blue. I found the blue to be a bit thin and anemic sounding. Greens won for sure in this shootout.
