I was just thinking about doing voxel lod and how it would look weird with the block textures being larger as well but I think it actually looks fine

I have some dreams and plenty of ideas for mechanics i want to see. However it is way too early to be sharing them. What i can say is that i want to make a game that takes advantage of the sandbox environment and can be enjoyed in a multiplayer environment.

You will not know until you try, for example hytale is a voxel game with already millions of followers and it isn't launched yet. I love this project, the high amount of blocks give better scenarios. If you can keep up the project with good content it will surely be loved.

I am not entirely sure what you are asking, so i'll try to guess. Chunks are cubic as they are essentially octree leafs. They get pushed on a generation queue which is handled by a generation thread. So i guess it is a linear loading of cubic chunks? ;)

Stefan K linear is like minecraft. Columns of chunks going along on x and z or forwardbackwards and leftright. Cubic is unlimited down and up. So it generate chunks going downward aswell

Stefan K yeah so thats cubic. Linear is just along like a plate, generating terrain all along. But not hight. Cubic is hight and stuff. Generates up and down too
