Excellent tutorial! I tried the demo after I saw it on your channel, I haven't played with it long enough to decide if it's better than Gullfoss, but the interface is way more self explanatory than the enigmatic gullfoss settings

Just bought this recently after having had my eye on it for a while. Now I'm fairly green to music production, but I was amazed at what this thing does. I guess for people like me it offers a good perspective on balance in a mix that is very easy to fiddle with, and I'm rather amazed they managed to make something so sophisticated, yet so understandable and usable. Also got LF Max Punch, which also has some serious potential that is clear to see. I'm already a big Voxengo fan. I think it may really help me develop my perspective on mixing.

I am considering buying this, does this sit at the end of master chain after my limiter?
@LonelyRocker

That’s where I’d put it.

It can be used on master or any other bus you want, but afaik it's main purpose is master. It does have a button to set it to master specifically. I haven't really tried it outside of that use. I guess you can see it as sort of a dynamic template for your mix.

Thanks! Sound likes the plugin is not registered properly. When a license is not active some plugins will cut audio every few seconds.

I hear a lot of pumping effects going on when the plugin is applied at 6:38 Mostly triggered by the crash and kick it seems.
@LonelyRocker

It's possible. For these demos I try to cover as much detail in the shortest time possible. In a session I obviously pay more attention to detail. There is plenty of tweakbility in this plugin to alleviate issues...
@ToxiKraft

@@LonelyRocker Looks like there is a lot you can do with this plugin. I was just saying lol crashes are kind of a dick though. They always seem too quiet or too loud. They can very easily cause some pumping from the compressor. I usually try to keep crashes down quite a bit and keep the compressor away from the high end. But if you can't get your hands on the mix or catch it in the recording phase then there's really not too much you can do. Better to compress it than let it control your headroom.

Just watched your MSpectralDynamicsLE video and trying to decide between that and TEOTE.
@LonelyRocker

They are quite different. TEOTE takes less brain power and gets you to finished quite quickly. MSpectral has a lot more layers and certainly can be more surgical. Tough call!! Thankfully I have both ;)
@Rolanoid

@@LonelyRocker I tried them out on the master buss of a dance mix and at first I preferred MSpectralDynamicsLE marginally over TEOTE but then remembered I already owned Gullfoss and Izotope Skulptor so tried those as well. I was pleased enough with the results I got with Skulptor. With further tweaking in a blind test listen with fresh ears I ended up preferring Gullfoss out of the four. I will test some more though on individual tracks but I may well be covered enough already with Skulptor and Gullfoss. All very close though and all excellent tools no matter which one you have.
