Checked out your channel and saw that you where inspired by Cösemen's Snaiad project (and honestly, who weren't), and I can see traces of Barlows Darwin as well. When it comes to inspiration you can hardly do better than that, and I really like the direction you've taken your own project in. I also love the detail and compositions of your illustrations; no mere pale imitation of the great artists mentioned, but true scientific reference-illustrations of an imagined world in their own right. I'm sure there'll be more videos about Phtanum B, right? Like, there's still the fact that it's only the southern continent that has red flora, while the northern one has green; or the fact that the continents are so neatly divided into north and south is because the equator is basically one giant hipercane called the Stormwall, in which wind speeds reach close to 1000 km/h and flatten geography and tear windwhales to pieces; or how the local fauna uses these hipercane winds to disperse their young in polyp stage and once they anchor themselves in ground, they grow their secondary adult bodies underground; or how windwhales are just the biggest examples of sky-bound fauna that also includes the constantly-afloat skyreefs... and so on, and so on. This is really a fascinating project and I can't wait for more!

You know i was recently reading up on artificial intelligence and how hard it is to create a near human level artificial intelligence. One aspect of Artificial intelligence is the ability to simulate events or proteins in order to create new medicines, the problem with AI is that it cant create simulations without input, basically a computer cant simulate how a ball will bounce without teaching it how physics work. This got me thinking about how humans are basically biological strong AIs, we can speculate what 'aliens' would be like on alien worlds relying on nothing but what little information we know about animals on earth and assumptions about how these organisms would evolve on planets with different gravity, atmospheric pressures and atmosphere. These videos remind me of the fact that we are an emerged intelligence who got this far using simulations in our heads long before computers were invented.

Another comment may have already addressed this but from all the research I have done into planets and how they would affect the life living on them, a larger planet would not mean larger life. A planet bigger than Earth would also have more gravity and for that reason, the maximum size would be capped at a size smaller than an Elephant (depending on the planet's size). My guess off the planet shown is that the most commonly life would only be 4ft or under. Nowhere near the sizes shown here. Plant life would be affected in the same way. Grass and bush like flora would be most common with the tallest being maybe 7ft to a story high. A planet around the size of Mars would be more likely to support larger life forms due to having lower gravity. A planet couldn't get much smaller than Mars and still be able to support life.
@vger4781

Wonderful question! The gravity on the surface is 1.67 g, which isn’t that terribly much more than on Earth. I have little doubt that life on a world with lets say 5 times Earth‘s gravity would severely alter their bodyplans and biology to survive better! As for the life itself, there are multiple reasons. The big one is that deuvertebrates in general have heavily pneumanized bodies, which reduces their density and their weight by a copious amount. They have bigger lungs that take up more space, usually run along the back. The whole thing with the additional trophic levels due to proportionally more biomass was already mentioned in the video. The denser air does play somewhat of a role, but definitely not a big one for terrestrial animals. The air is additionally compressed by the gravity as well, leading to airborne animals being able to reach these ungodly sizes! Windwhales for example pretty much represent an upper limit of how big a moving, breathing, eating organism can realistically get. I hope this answers some of your questions!

Considering that our hearts & blood vessels aren't adapted for planets with gravity that high, the air is denser than what our lungs are likely able to handle, we'll be surrounded by microbes we have no immunity to, and we'll have trouble digesting organisms made from unknown (and potentially poisonous) biochemicals, I'd imagine the medical issues are going to be *FAR* more important concerns than the predators.

Interesting though highly unlikely, especially the last species. The Earth-like planet of this size has to have gravity over three times of that of the Earth, so it's eternally more chances for us to encounter there relatively small and slow species than to find such gigantic forms of live.

Phtanum b gravity Isn't that high, just 1,67x the gravity of earth. Also, the planet have 4x more biomass than earth, This means that life has more energy to move and to be bigger. In addition, the deuvertebrates have pyrite bones, which are much stronger than our hydroxyapatite bones.

Huh, the corpse tree sounds and looks strange but a similar creature makes an appearance in another piece of fiction called Half life. However something killing something to nourish itself is not to strange as in Subnautica there is the tiger plant which shoot at possible threats and prey. As for the wind whale that dies that attracts massive amounts of scavengers, I want to say that is not uncanny to how modern day whales live and die, for when whales die, their carcasses becomes a host and attracts a mass of scavengers especially in the deeper depths.

Well, actually it's really quite simple and easy. First make a body plan, maybe two or three if you want other species living alongside each other. Then distort the body plan appropriately for the different niches. If two creatures occupy the same niche then either let one go extinct or if you don't want to kill off your darlings you could have one do "niche partitioning" so they don't have to compete with one another. There's a KZitem series I really like called "Alien Biospheres" that goes into the process of how to make an alien world (link here: kzitem.info/door/PL6xPxnYMQpquNuaEffJzjGjMsr6VktCYl ). Don't let the complex designs fool you. With enough knowledge and know-how of speciation, ecologies and evolution and a nice sprinkle of imagination you too could come up with an alien world of your own. Just don't copy Alien Biospheres one to one with the designs, I put imagination in the list of requirements for a reason. Edit: had to tweak this comment a bit because the link didn't work
