5th gear is 1.1 ratio on the cd trans. You'll get your true dyno numbers in 5th

Makes sense, I just thought that would only be with a 350z/g35 rear end ratio, so with a 4.08 in the rear of the 240 it would not actually be a 1:1 ratio at the tire. As well the guy operating the dyno told me the gear would not affect the power number. Not sure what to think, haha.

@@GeorgeGoesDrifting rear end gear doesn't matter but you always want to dyno in 1.1 on your trans. My kat build had a cd009 and 4th made 370 then we did 5th and it was 420

Ouch! They do call them heartbreaker dynos, but that seems low. Maybe it's pulling timing for some reason? Try getting a true cold air intake? Good chance for a compression test video though. Put in some fresh Iridium plugs while you're at it.

I ended up compression testing it and all 6 cylinders were 165+ psi and they were not far off of each other at all. It does have some relatively fresh plugs, but I suppose I could try swapping them. I suspected it could be pulling timing, I'll have to see if there are any new codes or if any sensors are broken. Also might mess with an intake outside the engine bay.

@@GeorgeGoesDrifting Very strange! If by chance you used copper plugs last time, I believe those engines came with iridium plugs from the factory and switching to copper can have the same effect as pulling timing 1-3 degrees plus you may not get optimal combustion. Platinum should be fine though. Otherwise, yeah I would look at getting colder air. Unless that shop says their dyno always reads pretty low. Good luck!

I also have a vq35de s13 with a cd and a stock 240sx diff and it made 250hp/240tq in 4th gear. The motor was completely freshened up besides rods and pistons and it wasn't on a mustang Dyno. Hopefully your motor isn't hurt!

What kind of dyno did you get those numbers on? I know the mustangs read low, but this seemed far too low.

It's a dynojet. I have a plenum spacer, exhaust, and intake. The numbers seemed pretty high to us but it's a fresh build so maybe that really helped. Also we are at sea level so if your at elevation that could make a difference as well.

@@sedwards987 I was at sea level as well. What do you have in terms of an exhaust and intake? Thinking my motor might be heat soaking a ton with the filter 1 foot from the drivers side header.

Custom made 2.5 inch y pipe with resonators to a hks hi power exhaust and for intake it's just a cheap oriellys filter that probably also about a foot off the headers. We actually did everything we could to keep the car from droning so I have 2 resonators in the y pipe and 2 mufflers lol still flows good just quit

The only other things I did was add a return line, switch to a walboro 255, and get a fpr so I could make sure fuel pressure was correct. I'll try to find my Dyno sheet and send you a picture on instagram or something so you can compare. @slideways_scuba
