GTI is stock in terms of brakes, suspension but engine has apr stage 1 93 octane and VWR R600 intake. Its a DSG. Car does not have performance package.
Coilovers and a rear sway will have you cornering like a boss!

Jad3d was thinking about coilovers but it would change the daily drive to a little bit more stiff so i still have to think about options.

Well-driven. I am going on Tuesday (10/17) for my first time in my 2017 Sport 6MT and it was helpful to get a benchmark as far as braking, turn-ins, etc. I hadn't seen the cone-chicane before on the back straight. Was that something done for the night session only? Just curious. Also, which skill group were you in?

Paul Bell Glad it helped, yeah you are going to enjoy it, just be careful with braking because it fades a lot, as for the cones Im not sure if it was only for that night but it was the first time they were using it and they wanted to keep it that way. Either way youll enjoy the car very enjoyable. If theres anything else you would ask just do it im more thsn happy to help.

ApexGT3 Thanks for the advice on the brakes. I will make sure to brake long and work deeper very slowly. What do you run for tire pressures versus your normal street settings? I am used to going slightly higher on cold pressures for autocross in order to reach the desired hot pressure but I would imagine you would do the opposite for the track. The door jam says, and on the street I run, 37 psi in my OEM AS Bridgestones so I figured I would try maybe 34 cold?

Paul Bell if you have potenzas try going 32 cold its still gonna get too hot, after a session check the hot temps might get as high as 40s or more depending on how hard you push, just make sure that when hote it doesn not exceed 35, remember stock tires are not that good and if you have a chance change them

32 turned out to be a bit low -- I was only getting to about 35 hot (37 cold is the starting point for street) but there was a lot of shoulder wear. The word "Bridgestone" on the side is missing the tops of the letters so...yeah, no more track days on these things. The brakes were good but I really didn't push them, and I have the Performance Pack so that helps. Otherwise, THE CAR IS A BLAST ON THE TRACK!!!!!!! I have a car for which I paid under $25k. This ONE CAR gets 35+ mpg on the highway, where it rides comfortably and is quiet and composed. This one car holds all of my camping gear, including my wife (well, she's not camping gear per se but still). This one car holds five grown men for work lunch runs. This one car is a hero on the track, where it torques like hell out of mid-speed corners and turns in like nothing else. With decent rubber, the right pads, and MAYBE a rear sway bar -- figure an investment of MAYBE $1500 total -- it will be even more capable on the track and autocross course. What more could one ask for?

steved0x hey! I was gonna reply you on the other vid haha, honestly I dont know that was the first time they were using it and they wanted to keep it that way but I am not totally sure, you might want to ask them on an email because honestly it kills the flow of the track
