I hardly ever use my sink and tap, but I know that the day I get rid, I'll need it 🤣🤣!! The sink is a great extra cupboard at the moment though!

My van won't have a fixed hob or sink! So I can cook and wash up inside or outside.

Yes, I use my tap and kitchen sink. But I have a factory-built van (Knaus Boxstar 600 built on Fiat Ducato) and the whole water system already exists. It is also for toilet, shower and sink. So I empty the water system of water and keep it all winter. Otherwise it risks freezing because it is parked outdoors and it can be temperatures well below freezing temperatures. But now and then I travel in the winter, for skiing, long distance skating, I have a can of water with me, but use the kitchen sink for drainage. And flush the toilet with a bottle of water. I think it's SO nice when it's spring and I can start the water system again, life becomes so much easier and you can start showering etc. So if I would have built a van I think I prefer kitchen sink at least.

I had a diy kitchenette with sink etc and hardly ever used it. So definitely ditching the sink and tap. I’m getting a new unit made with just a 12v fridge, drawer and hob. Super noodles and tea suits me just fine and less washing up too!

Nope.. cook and wash outside. Especially in a tiny vw. When we had motorhomes then yes but sitting down and cooking on a tiny space is minging

We use our sink tap and water all the time. I must admit I find it very handy. I’m curious as to why the took the tap out as it doesn’t really add any more space. The bottle underneath I get takes up space so if you don’t need water yes that will certainly gives you more space. Anyways like you say your van your choice. 😎

Taking the tap out, means I can remove the pump too. It was very easy to remove and simple to put back… thank you for your comment, much appreciated…👍

I wouldn’t take mine out,I use mine a lot, washing up is always done in mine after seeing people wash items in sinks that make me feel sick, also it’s part of the van

Again your choice but l use my sink and tap and will definitely be keeping it.... You say you will use the sink for say pouring away leftover tea or swilling out when you clean your teeth but l noticed that you had removed your clean water tank ( not required due to no tap) but I didn't see your grey water container... So where does your grey water go, maybe l've missed something but surely not enough space gained by removing the tap. As l said though personal choice is always the best 😁👍🏴🇬🇧

Hello, Our tap folds down when not in use So it is never in the way. No need to remove it. Looking back on out tent camping days, having a bottle that we had to tip up, and constantly top up, was a chore. Eventually I got an old caravan tap which made life easier.. Campervan sinks are usually too small to be of any use except storage, but as you say, you can pour liquid residues down the plughole. We will keep our small sink and tap, they are so convenient. Good luck with the channel

@@caspervanlife8466 I was thinking of making a external slide out sink next time with water container outside, so it doesn’t make a mess in the van. Just a idea!

I have used the tap a few times, but unless I am there for more than a few days I just use bottled water most of the time. I could easily manage without the tape. Great idea with the cutting board, another one I may pinch.
