Thank you so much Baz for doing such a thorough job, I’ll check all the paperwork again but I’m pretty certain it’s the original clutch.

You make these jobs look very easy, whilst this one is definitely isn't. As a sidenote to all viewers, when they remove a 6 speed gearbox from a t5 or t6, the slave cyl has to replaced every time as you remove the gearbox. Once the gearbox is separated from the engine /clutch the inner cylinder itself comes more out than the normal operating range and pulls in all the dirt accumulated there once compressed again. This later kills the seal inside and will let the hydraulic fluid go over time if the cylinder is reused.

Last year you did a clutch on a T5 with a clutch alignment tool from Ali express, which you asked your parts shop for and they were to expensive... I'm taking it as you do things at a weekend ????

@@bazmeredith yes I did that. I meant to say the above as a compliment as I had to ask for significant amount of help to put the gearbox back (getting the 5spd out was kinda "easy"), also the subframe was a struggle by myself.

I managed to get 250,000 kms out of an original clutch on my last car. Have to admit that my driving is mostly motorway and cross country with little or no city/stop-start driving.

I have previously had 2 Vito vans, both from new. I did 250,000 miles in 3 years in EACH of those vans. One eas an automatic and one was a manual. The vans were both sold on at the 3 year point and the manual one still had plenty of life left in the clutch. The auto had no issues either. Fortunately, that was 5 to 11 years ago and I no longer do anywhere near that mileage. Phew! Great video Baz 👍

Or it’s had a genuine replacement at some point in its life. Good to see someone using the correct too for the job! Interested to know what you charge for such a Job?

I also thought, "well it might just have had a clutch replacement by a VW dealer". It seemed like a bit of a jump to think the clutch and DMF had done all those miles (as good as LUK clutches/DMFs are).

Hi baz, great video! Why shouldn't you press the slave in when it's out of the box? I usually hand bleed them before putting it in and never had any issues

To calculate the total cost, we'll need to break it down into a few steps: * Convert miles to gallons: * 362,000 miles / 45 miles/gallon = 8,044.44 gallons * Convert gallons to liters: * 1 gallon = 3.78541 liters * 8,044.44 gallons * 3.78541 liters/gallon = 30,452.03 liters * Calculate total cost: * 30,452.03 liters * £1.47/liter = £44,682.74 Therefore, it cost £44,682.74 to travel 362,000 miles. Powerful thing Ai.... 😂😂😂

You’re using USA gallon = 3.78541 litres , which is wrong it’s UK Gallon = 4.54609 litres not Liters ! So you’re out by about 25% there buddy .
