Why would anyone ever dislike Mozart? If they perhaps object to the words of the mass, that is a different thing. But Mozart's divine music?

+atonalism maybe they don't like the recording. i do, but if anyone disliked a mozart video it would probably be because of the recording.

As an Alto, I’d like to say that this mass is a bloody disgrace for everybody but sopranos 🔫

@@kikkerl Yes. I personally don't like the interpretation because it uses period instruments, and I prefer modern instruments to the opposite authentic ones.

Stumbled on this by accident as it followed on automatically from what I had chosen. A pleasant surprise, very different from the other Haydn and Mozart Masses I know. Clearly a youthful work, but with a youthful view of religion which is rather refreshing. Affectionate and spirited performance though the bass entries are rather shocking!

Not so keen on the performance....too much emphasis on the first beat..bit overdone in my opinion. Heavenly music still.

And what about Brahms? Dvořák once said of Brahms: "Such a man, such a fine soul--and he believes in nothing! He believes in nothing!" (Swofford, Jan. Johannes Brahms: A Biography. Alfred A. Knopf, Inc., 1997) That means: He doesn´t believe in God. Clear? Was he good composer? Yes he was, very good. And Varese, Ligeti or Prokofiev were also great composers. If you don't believe the facts, you're stupid. P.S. Mozart was freemason, member of the heretical, sometimes anti-Catholic, movement. We can't see in Mozart's head but it's not as easy as you say it!

The recording by Herbert Kegel on Philips is far better than this.
