Packaging is super solid and cool looking
The red leather looking case opens up a holder that has all the goodies it - this holder has a live pic of blackie - during last command tour (he has the white boots, feathers down his legs and his bass) the other side surprisingly has Chris shredding his white Jackson V with the cross inlays (this might be headless era)
The vinyl is all classic black
Each album cover is the classic cover along with the sleeve that has the lyrics and liner notes
Surprises in the album covers as theirs artwork on the interior of them - odd but very interesting
Cool poster of blackie during the circus era
The saw blade is a cardboard cutout which honestly thought was chincy
Cool little foldout that has some old school interviews and pics
Saving the best for last! The Book
It’s all class - beautiful and nice thick stock paper - it reads about each album in chronological order with cool stores and pics - I would consider myself a digger when it comes to info on wasp and there’s some really cool firsts in here as I skimmed it page by page
I really got the set for the book and I’m ecstatic over it and can’t wait to really read each page
I have not played any vinyl but I was really hoping this set was going to contain the demos of the first album that blackie was talking about but I still obviously got this when I knew they wouldn’t be included (perhaps that’s another set maybe included with an autobiography?) I’ve already heard everything from the past on these but I look forward to hearing the remastered versions. The album covers seem a little thinner than standard alone albums which makes sense as these are housed in a stunning case.
Overall this is a nice set and I’m very happy with it
It’s what I expected and then some - the book is just awesome
Go get it if you still can
W.A.S.P. frontman Blackie Lawless comments, "It’s great to see this collection of records be re-released with this detail. For the original recordings to have a new light shown on them with expanded notes and additional photography is special for me, and will be for all those that hold these albums in a special place in their hearts and times in their lives."
Their first five studio albums (W.A.S.P., The Last Command, Inside the Electric Circus, The Headless Children & TheCrimson Idol) contributed enough on their own for W.A.S.P. to be considered one of the greatest rock bands of all-time. Those LPs are all presented in this set, mastered half-speed at Air Studios, London for a superior, sharper, more direct and engaging sound.
Packaged within a deluxe red leatherette effect double slipcase, 'The 7 Savage: 1984-1992' is completed on vinyl with two more LPs: 1987’s Live… in the Raw and new compilation Bonus Tracks & B-Sides featuring the controversial breakthrough anthem ‘Animal (F**k Like a Beast)’.
Compiled with the full cooperation of Blackie Lawless, the box set also includes a 60-page book with exclusive and rare pictures from legendary metal photographers (including Ross Halfin, Tony Mottram, David Plastik and Paul Natkin), along with extensive liner notes from Amit Sharma (Kerrang!, Planet Rock). Also included is an exclusive Blackie Lawless poster, plus an individually numbered circular saw shaped certificate.
