Just tried it! I made ones without any fillings just to try out the taste and texture. I don't have an 8" round plate so I did some calculation and adjusted the ingredients for my 8" square plate. They actually turn out to be very good! The last one I added a little more batter and was a bit "harder" - but I guess it would be perfect for stir-frying! Thanks for the recipe! I'll certainly try with beef and chasiu fillings next time!

I have made "chang fun" at home with the steam method for more than ten years with very good results. The steam method is rather cumbersome. I tried your recipe today and I am amazed how simple and easy it is to produce "chang fun" of restaurant quality. Thank you so much for your instructive tutorial! You have opened my eyes with your use of other ingredients such as avocado in this recipes. The possibilities are endless. Wow!

Thank you so much , I tried and it was a bit too soft, next time I will add in a bit more rice flour. For the fresh prawn, you cut a few lines at the " legs " side to that when cooked, it will not curl up ! For those who can't read Chinese, her recipe is 1 cup water, 3 Tablespoon rice flour, 3 Tablespoon Wheat starch as the photo she posted. I added in tiny bit of salt in the batter. If you don't have 8 inches plate, use her as a guide and you must grease the plate well and the batter MUST cover the whole base but not too thick and m'wave, once the center part changed from milk white to clear, it is cooked. Cool for 1 min then remove it like the way she did.

Thanks for the prompt reply. But there is no wheat starch in our supermarkets. We have cake flour, all purpose, bread flour, potato starch, corn starch, rice flour, etc. Cake, all purpose, bread flours are all wheat flour. I guess cake flour has the least gluten among the three.

Eddie Lao You can try : 2 Tbsp rice flour, 1/4 tsp corn starch, 5 Tbsp water then stir, use 8 inches plate, Microwave 2 1/2 minutes, add shrimp Microwave 30 second, lt is one serving. lt is best to use wheat flour, you can buy wheat flour at Amazon.com

Are you using a microwave? If you are you might have poured the mixture onto your plate unevenly. This causes stickiness. Edges should have mixture. If it is too dry, heat for 30 secs less
