伯夷列傳》 The word dragon entered the English language in the early 13th century from Old French dragon, which, in turn, comes from the Latin: draco (genitive draconis) meaning "huge serpent, dragon", from Ancient Greek δράκων, drákōn (genitive δράκοντος, drákontos) "serpent" 龍,dragon 都是在說很大隻的蛇或爬蟲類 給不同語系的人行個方便不好嗎?
Chinese new year, Lunar new year

Pronounciation of word "Loong" is not something respectable in English
Dragons have been in many cultures in many forms and capacities. The old Icelandic sagas had dragons (Fáfnir and Jörmungandr to name a few). China / ccp can not take ownership of the word dragon. Especially when they suggest such a stupid alternative and don't understand why it's funny in western culture. Loooong story short 😁
I think 'dragonborn' is the corresponding name in Western culture? For example Skyrim and many other games have this species. 'The dragonborn comes' is a good theme song for Skyrim, you can give it a try.
日本这方面就做得很好,之前我和一个日本朋友聊到八岐大蛇,我说eight head snake,他认真地纠正我说no, it’s not called snake, it’s called Yamata no Orochi.
前几年有外国明星祝贺新年交luna new year,就被小粉红出征说实在辱华,要叫Chinese new year。
Happy Chinese New Year 2024. Year Of The Dragon. This year is the Year of the Dragon. Wishing you a happy Year of the Dragon. May you be happy and prosperous. This year is the Asian Year of the Dragon. Wishing you a happy Asian Year of the Dragon. May you be happy and prosperous. I think this is a more diverse and inclusive way of saying it. Because different cultures speaking different languages celebrate the Lunar New Year in their own way. Someone could say Lunar New Year, Chinese New Year, or they could say it in a different way from a different culture. Someone also could say Year of the Asian Dragon Year of the Chinese Dragon, or something from a different culture in my opinion. I also think it makes sense for different cultures to naturally blend over time. There is an English way of saying it and a Chinese way of saying it. We are learning about different languages and cultures here. In Pinyin 龙 or 龍 is already transliterated as "lóng." Wade-Giles transliterates 龙 or 龍 into "lung." But in my opinion the standard English translation is "dragon." Dragons are mythical creatures which are probably inspired by dinosaur bones. There can be different kinds of mythical dragons, like there were different kinds of dinosaurs. Both modern western people and people from different cultures in general perceive dragons differently than people did in ancient times and during the middle ages. I think dragons are cool and interesting. Let's celebrate cultural diversity. I like mythical creatures from a variety of different cultural traditions. Or even mythical creatures from someone's creative imagination. Different cultures have different ways of celebrating the Lunar New Year. I think that someone could call it the Spring Festival, the Chinese New Year, the Lunar New Year, or something from another culture and it doesn't matter. I don't think it matters what it's called. I would like for people to be welcome to call it whatever they would like.
