Frankly, I don't buy the Nationalists' or the Communists' stories about Wang Jing-wei. First, Chiang Kai-shek was madly jealous of Wang, his admirable efforts at promoting China's successful democratic revolution of 1912, led by Dr. Sun Yat-sin, and Wang's knowledge, educational background and his ability to lead. Secondly, Chinese Communists had hated Wang because he did not advocate communism. In addition, Wang was a brilliant speaker who was even more persuasive than Chou En-lai. Both Chiang Kai-shek and Chinese Communists had falsely and maliciously accused Wang as a traitor. That is pure nonsense. He never ceded any part of China to the Japanese nor did he gained any money from Japan.
