Let's start the city walk at the Marienberg Fortress and overlook the beautiful city at about 100 meters above sea level. Perched on the Marienberg, the fortress is the main focus of the silhouette of Würzburg and conjures up a unique cityscape. On a guided tour through the Marienberg Fortress, discover the small St. Mary's Church from 704 AD, which is considered to be the oldest part of the fortress that has been preserved.
Then we go down the Marienberg to the Würzburg Residence. Numerous well-known architects from Germany and France were involved in the construction of the residence and shaped the interior with ornamental carvings. Visit the 40 style rooms and get inspired by the abundance of furniture, knitted carpets, paintings and other art treasures of the 18th century.

Of course, the magnificent Court Garden should not be missing. Stroll through the large garden - past fruit trees, the kitchen garden, the orangery, the promenade - and get carried away by the scents of the variety of flowers in the Court Garden.

We end the city walk at the market square, which is divided into two markets: the lower market captivates with the striking obelisk fountain and the Lady Chapel is the center of the upper market, which gives it a unique flair. Get to know the heart of Würzburg and stroll through the shops and cafes on the market square.
