@SamHain1031666 The Cintiq is basically a monitor with a wacom built in (or the other way around, however you'd like to put it). This means it needs to be hooked up to your pc in order to work.

I just bought one, hopefully it will decrease the amount of time I spend on drawing digital artwork. A multilayer high resolution digital drawing takes me 8 flipping hours to draw and color (sketch & color done with tablet and line art done with mouse). Hoping to decrease that time to 2. The thing that made me so upset about using a traditional tablet was looking at the monitor while drawing. It felt so unnatural and I could never get certain angles right. Hopefully this will fix all of that.

I've changed the buttons to how I want them, and everything works perfect. Been using this beauty for a while now, and I love it. The ONLY thing that sucks, is the colour system. The wacom tablet doesnt have the SAME colours as the screen :((

@meno0chanN if you mean the cursor of the pen on the screen of the cintiq when you put it on the screen, it needs to be calibrated. Go to Start- control panel- Hardware and Sound- Wacom tablet properties. Then a box should pop up with the wacom tablet properties, from there click on the Calibrate tab and then click the calibrate button and a white box should appear with 4 crosses on the 4 corners of the cintiq screen. Just click on the cross symbols and then click on ok and youre done :)

I remember now, you can zoom in still. This is large enough to work on your lap, just be aware that you do have to keep the tablet plugged into your computer while you work. Correct me if I am wrong, but you would have to purchase a larger cord to plug into your computer, so that you may be able to work with it on your lap. Also, be aware that you need to purchase some kind of drawing software as well. If you go to the Wacom site, you can learn a bit more on the tablet and other offers. -FDOB

It has a long cable, so as long as your computer is within about six feet from your bed you could probably draw on it in your bed. For the 12WX, you will need to use your computer quite often, so it's best if you're close to your computer

The tablet is like a screen basically, but not like an ipad. you have to connect it to a computer to use it. there is no headphone jack or anything like that. its a screen with precise sensitivity that allow artists and designers to do professional work.

If you plan to buy the Wacom Cintiq 12wx, I suggest to all of you to reconsider it. It's a 12.1" screen with HD resolution (1280*720px) for 800$ and you need a powerful computer to use it. You have now the Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro which is an ultrabook with Intel i7, 4Go RAM (enough to use ArtRage, Corel, Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, Blender, Flash, ...) with a 11.6" touchscreen with FHD (1920*1080px) which support Wacom Digitizer with 1024 pressure levels.

love my cintiq 12wx. personally its the right size if you're just an amateur who wants the benefits of a tablet screen. the full-size cintiqs are like working on a canvas, easel or a desk. the 12 is like working on those 17" drawing paper books (even though the screen is 12", the bezel is 17"). my only complaint is the viewing angles and color reproduction isn't that great (but you can work around it by calibrating the cintiq screen and your pc monitor)

Wacom Cintiq 12wx: + Programmable keys + Bigger screen (12.1 inches) + PC and MAC - Portability (Need a computer to work with) - Low resolution (1280*720px) - Expensive price (~800$) Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro: + High resolution (1920*1080px) + High performance Ultrabook (up to i7, 4Go RAM, up to 256Go SSD) + High portability (light, thin and usable everywhere) - Smaller screen (11.6 inches) - Expensive price (~1200$) Maybe expensive but worth it, you will be able to draw everywhere...

It's pretty amazing if you ask me. Sometimes if something is old, but was built incredibly well, it works still if not better than some other tablets out there. Feel free to browse around though, for other tablets if you feel as if this one is not the right one for you. Before you decide, look at more videos of this product. -FDOB

@SamHain1031666 I've worked with an intuos 3 A5 wide since back in 2005, and recently switched to the cintiq 12wx. If you intensely use it for sketching, designing and heavy photo editing, the difference is well worth the extra money. If you just use it 'every now and then', you'll probably be better of buying the intuos4.

You really need the ExpressKeys? You can buy something like the Razer Nostromo for ~50$ which is designed for game (16 programmables keys, hand support and the joystick can maybe be used to zoom/rotate?). Can you give me an argument to buy Cintiq 12 instead of this monster? :D

@KoiladaScrewYTHandles
9 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference would be that the Cintiq has a screen while the Intuos does not - meaning you look at the computer monitor while working on the Intuos whereas you work exactly on what you're viewing on the Cintiq. Also, the Cintiq 12wx is quite old, whereas the Intuos Pro is newer and has much better pressure control, as well as more accurate pressure. Both connect to a computer. If you want a computer-separate, portable Wacom that you draw on-screen with, then the Cintiq Companion Hybrid is the best.
