Wade was there at the Missouri State Fair in 1996 when I lost the girl who meant it all. Saw him there. We were both kids. He came out into the audience and saw I was sad. He shook my hand, I told him my story. He was sad. He gave me a shout out. Made my night and I’m now a forever fan.

Came real close to getting into a bonafide fist fight with Mr. Hayes just prior to him taking the stage before a concert he was headlining....100 degree heat and entirely too much endulgence at the ol' beer garden had me convinced it was the proper course of action. It was one of those instant nose to nose , no talkin necessary kinda moments. My drunk ass was ready to go, and to my surprise, Wade didn't back down . Like....not at all. If anything he leaned into the prospect with a crazy ass look in his eye and a toothy hound dog grin. My wingman casually reminded me that not only was I out of line, but I was also surrounded by thousands of his fans. We both just sorta nodded and went our separate ways. Thankfully. Been a fan ever since.

This is true. As much as I adore 90s country, it is what led us to the pop crap we have now. They walked a fine line in the 90s. But the natural progression of all music is to then push and move the line. Unfortunately, they moved it out of country completely.

True but imo it is different now. Back in the 90s you still much of the same rhythms znd instruments. Now its lost a lot of that. There are more pop eldmdnts in the rhythm and in the instruments. There are now dlemdnts of rsp znd hip hop now. I dont see pop and hip hop trying to be more country.
