Steve Cooper Waiex # 0094 took off for first flight on june 21 2018 at Big Bear City Airport at 7 am in the morning density altitude was 7800 ft winds were calm, test pilot Rusty Regan at the controls full throttle applied and Waiex 0094 was airborne in 450 ft and climbed to 8500 ft pattern altitude for Big Bear Rusty says the plane flew excellent no trim needed, I purchased the aircraft in Virginia in august of 2016 it was partially assembled like a quick build kit it is conventional gear,MGL IEFIS panel I am still tweaking RPM settings and GPH. I covered the plane with vinyl wrap way easier than paint my 11 year old son and i covered it and polished it. the second flight was the next day and i was pilot with Rusty on board we were almost full gross weight i weigh 150 and Rusty 210 so plane flew a little wing low on the right side the Jabiru 3300 A performed flawlessly and i have the Prince prop the empty weight of the plane is 686 pounds. I have a few bugs to work out and then begin flying off the 40 hr phase 1 flight testing i am trying to get comfortable with the plane it is FAST compared to my Mini Max I am looking forward to many enjoyable flights to fly ins and some cross country flights my son Cameron will learn to fly in this plane he can't wait.

Good to see a video from you, it’s been a while! In the video i noticed it looks like a 6 cylinder. What engine is in it? Just curious as someone commented it sounds like a real airplane engine
