I like lessons like these and not just the typical lessons where they just show the notes not the theory stuff like wat scales and inversion and how they come up with the licks!!! plz more like this maybe patreon? I would totally sign up!

Haha yeah this lesson is an excerpt from my guitar course. It’s established at the beginning of the course that we’re tuned down to eb. Apologies for the confusion!

Awesome lesson you are one of the best on KZitem. At 7:18 going into the chorus John is playing an inverted A-shaped A-major barre chord up past the 12th fret. Watch the live performance closely you will see what I mean. Great lesson though!

Great method! Also I dig the posters in the background. The Kurt Cobain one looks vintage maybe?? I've got SRV, Jimi, and GNR framed on my walls. Cobain is now on my list of ones to get along with EVH 🎸🤙

Just take it super slow and really focus on the right hand. Practice the section you’re struggling on to a click if needs be and increase the speed when you have it nailed.

This is excellent. Thank you! Would you mind sharing your action height? Tuning down a 1/2 step has my guitar buzzing like crazy. I’m at 3/32 on bass side E. I’m wondering if I don’t have enough relief in the neck as I think that should be high enough. Anyway awesome video and playing!!

Slightly significant point. Your guitar is either way out of tune or you tune down half a step in which case the E that you're playing is not really an e is it?

throughout the song, is there a certain strumming pattern to use? i do a pattern for the intro then hammerons then i go to all down strums. would that be wrong?

Love all your stuff Sean but song “by John Mayer”?? Please!…give me a f*cking break. Give credit where it’s due, I knew Jimi personally and went to loads of his concerts, first row. John Mayer is one of the most in his head performers alive and he’s everything Hendrix isn’t. Can’t even listen to him play without getting completely bored within 30 seconds. You are 10 times the player he will ever be and have a creative soul, I play your lessons a lot. Love your new guitar!!
