Looks like I'm between three and seven years late to the party, but now that I'm here I must add my voice to the chorus of appreciation. I've watched _Pulp Fiction_ at least a dozen times,, & "Waitin' in School" is a perennial highlight. Not only does it perfectly set the mood for one of the more iconic scenes in cinematic history, it's foot-tappingly catchy, with performer Gary Shorelle's butternut pipes effortlessly transporting you to a better place & time. Like many other Tarantino fans, I mourned loudly & long the song's inconceivable absence from PF's official soundtrack. On the other hand, randomly discovering that Gary himself had made it available online was like being led to a pot of gold & a gorgeous leprechaun chick simultaneously. Thank you & god bless.

I like your cover of this song better than the original, Gary. It's not even close! I like your upbeat tempo and uniquie interpretation. I'm sorry that they didn't include it on the soundtrack album, because it would have been a song that I would have anticipated listening to, whenever I played it. For what it's worth, you did a great job and the scene in the movie when you are singing this song is a better scene, because YOUR cover is playing in the background and not the original version. Congratulations!

Hey thanks for the compliment! Not being on the album was quite a blow. My management was at fault. Quentin auditioned me and was very complimentary. He told me later that he told the casting director when I left the audition that he wanted me in the movie and to sing. I found out 2 weeks before shooting. I, stupidly thought I would be on the album. As you know, the other songs were oldies and my performance was the only music especially recorded for the movie. It was myself singing and plying the guitar---live. Thanks again, Gary Shorelle. PS.Please check out my Ricky Nelson medley, "Forever Ricky" which I recorded a while back.
