Thanks, this is a very useful video. I'm trying this method for the first time this year.

Feels like this method would make transplanting outdoors easier as you can gently lift them out without damaging the little hair roots growing. Do you find they ‘catch on’ faster and don’t stall as much when you plant them out?

Yes some wake up really fast because of the humidity in the bags but make sure not to water them too much. You don’t want them sitting in wet because you rot them. However, there are some slow dahlias as there are always are and I thought five were dead and just left them but they just woke up a lot later but now they’re in the bags and the of the bag has really helped that I open quickly and set up leaves, as soon as the eye got green leaves about an inch within four days because of the conditions inside the bag which was amazing

Hi, good vid...Is that vermiculite or perlite?

It looks like perlite to me too. Unless it’s a chunky vermiculite in a different colour to the one I’m used to. Would be great to know for sure as I agree the vid is good.

What kind of soil are you using when putting in bags? Seed starting? Compost? Or something else?
@underdownh
17 күн бұрын
Yes, I did a bit of seed starting because it’s nice and soft not too much going on in it although I don’t think it really matters to be fair

I have done this for the first time in bags started 8 days ago. Also the first time growing dahlia. I have a LOT of white roots atthe bottom of most bags but not spotting many eyes or sprouts….. is this normal? Should I be doing something different? I did have the bags closed so opened them today. Any help appreciated as there is not lots of info about this method
