I’ve got a bunch I grew from seed in 5 gallon buckets that I need to plant but I’m trying to find some free scrap fence to put around them to keep the deer off. There’s too many deer around my place. I’ve got over 100 wire gages out there now around the new trees I planted for my beehives plus some small pecans. I’ve rescued 3 honeybee colonies in the last 2 weeks. One was inside a early 1960 tow trucks gas tank. They’re entering thru the gas nozzle. I brought the tank home and mounted it to a hive stand and I’m going to take off the filler tube and attach a 2 1/4” diameter hose to the tank and the other end to a Langstroth hive with a hole cut in it. They’ll have to travel thru the hive to get out to feed. I’m hoping they’ll eventually run out of room in the tank and start building comb in the Langstroth.

In 2012 when Walmart started selling the Dunstan Chestnut trees they were $24.95 .I flew into Atlanta late one night and picked up 5 trees .I had 3 planted before I found out I had bought 5 Sawtooth Oaks .The previous Sawtooth Oaks planted cost me 20 cents each from the GA Forestry Commission .My fault for not check the tags .Both deer and hogs love them but the main issue is it is 2 weeks before firearms season and most of my trees have about finished dropping .

Dunstan will be done dropping before firearm season too. They’re good for early to mid season bow.
