Amazing how much things changed. Now it’s PedEast beginning at Mcdonalds east of the freeway & pedwest to the west. Nowadays you gotta have your passport when u walk in.

Be advised that as of November 2012 this crossing is now history. The new one is on the East side (behind McDonalds) with another planned for the west side of the new southbound traffice entrance at Chapparal. Someone please make a new video.

Back when I crossed the boder to Tijuana, there were swarms of kids there to greet you. Some good advice I would give to people who want to visit there is don't drink the water from tap and stay away from their street meat or you'll be squirting out those tortillas for days.

LOLOL........when i crossed i was immediately approached and offered prostitutes ........when i said not interested i was then offered younger females..again i said not interested and was then offered male prostitutes instead......i thought wtf and kept walking.......i looked around the streets & shops for about 20 mins breathing in very toxic stinking car fumes,looking at flies crawling over a sticky sweet street vendors were selling and at that point i decided to head back into the USA as id seen enough of mexico LOL

geoffdundee I haven't been down there since the late 1980's and it was the sameway then. You may be young to remember the Bambi Club. Man that place use to be wild. Back then the Navy said we had to be back across by 10pm although they never really pushed it. My wife and I would sometimes come back at 1 or 2am. Don't ever plan on going back but it was fun back then.

@samuelcisneros001 I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing the footage, like you said the line coming from Mexico to the States would sometimes take 2-4 hours wait in a line that zig zaged for miles, with passport control, x-ray and sniffer dogs. It's such a contrast the border traveling the other way, just two revolving doors and that's it, bam your in Mexico!!! Two totally different worlds, either side of a fence ... both I love for their own uniqueness. Do do stay in California? And Happy New Year!!!

While this video gives an accurate view of what it used to be like crossing the border, be aware that the route has now changed. You now cross on the same side of I-5 as where you return from MEX. The new walking entrance to MEX is behind McDonald's and the end of the trolley.

Crossing from San Diego to Tijuana is amazing, going from a First World country to a Third World country. These days you should have a U.S. passport to return but Mexico makes it easy to come in, since you'll be spending $. You arrive on the San Diego Trolley light rail but there's only owner-operated run-down buses in Tijuana, even though Tijuana is a larger city than San Diego. How funny there are McDonald's on both sides, right at the border crossing!

Guys thx for this video and advice, what happens when u are crossing into America? do the Mexico authorities check your documents? I understand in some comments people talked about how it's easy to cross into Mexico, Is it also easy to cross into America without anybody asking u something? Ur response will be highly appreciated, THX
@robertweich9765

+Tetung Dasi nope they do not check your documents when crossing into Mexico. However, when you get back into America, you will go through a check and they will ask questions. I just did this in 2014 and all I had was my driver's license. This was ok to them, but they did ask a few more questions.
