I grew up here then moved away for a few years after finishing college. A new job brought me back to KC about 6months ago, and I have to say that I REALLY like it here (in spite of thinking that I would hate living here as a post college adult). There is a lot of growth happening and overall the city is making really progressive, urbanist decisions right now. I want to live here because of what I think KC will be in 5-10 years. Strongly recommend visiting.

I laughed while you walked thinking ole the pain less walk I was taking with you. But back many years ago I walked them streets daily. It's changed so much and I haven't even seen till now. It's been a long time to get out anywhere for me. Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories of the good old days and the fun I use to have them many years ago. God bless. I left Kansas City for college and have lived out west ever since. It was amazing to see parts of downtown I was familiar with in the 70;s and 80's. Midland Thearter, Empire Theater...etc. There used to be an arcade not too far from there along with a comic book store (or a magazine store) next door to that. Even though the Kansas City then could not compare with the Kansas City now, I miss the old Kansas City and appreciate the much improved Kansas City. I often think about moving back. Maybe one day. Thanks for selecting the perfect route for your walking tour. I suspect some people do not like being filmed but from the looks of it everyone was chill. Thanks!

Thank you, WWTV, for this splendid video of a city that has garnered a lot of interest over the past decade, is legendary for its history, BBQ, jazz roots and sports teams and appears here to be really clean and spacious. One thing that perplexes me about KC and other Midwestern cities is that there are rarely people out on the street walking, even in the "heart" of their downtowns and even when the weather is nice, unless they're already at a specific place to eat or shop (like the food market at the end here). I've seen similar videos of Cincinnati, Saint Louis, Minneapolis, etc. They all look like ghost-towns except for a few tiny blocks of entertainment/night-life. What gives? Any KC locals want to explain your lifestyle? Do people walk around town or is everything built around the automobile? Regards from Europe, where cities are obviously much denser and whose inhabitants just walk to run errands, socialize, enjoy the city itself, etc.

Kansas City Missouri is one of the great cities in the world these days. It's not that great, it's actually kind of dull. There's not a lot of rich culture, history or entertainment when compared to St. Louis. The cost of living is decent but still getting more expensive by the year. It's just a typical midsized midwestern city.
@gdurant

@@K.B.Williams sad to say dude but St Louis is a shrinking hellish dump that will shrivel into nothing and I am not taking pleasure in that. I used to have an office there and it's much worse since I left. Kansas City Missouri is thriving and growing and has been for 60 years. By contrast St Louis has been shrinking like a prune in the sun for 80 years. There's no comparison sad to say.
