Wonderful. A precious and priceless piece of Jewish and Polish history. Meir is a living witness to the horror that befell this quiet, centuries-old Jewish village. My heart still weeps for these murdered people. Meir grew up in this lovely little Shtetl. God bless him and his family xx

Piękny film i wspomnienia tego Pana. To dobrze, że jednak niektórzy uratowali się z zagłady. Wzruszająca opowieść o tej Pani, która sprzedawała drożdże.

I love these strolls down memory lane by former Jewish residents in Eastern Europe. You can get a bit of a feel of what daily life was like. Poverty and adherence to a way of life was the order of the day. In many, many ways lives were rich in family associations and rich in the honour of Jewish schools and religion. We all know now how brutally everything they knew was taken from them. The immense cruelty and viscious behaviour of the Germans and their ethnic neighbours virtually ended hundreds of years of Jewish life. We must never forget and never let Germany forget what was done.

A reminder of what Polish Jews lived like in the small towns of Poland. This was erased, and no longer in existance. What a Shame.

Great video! I wish there were more stories by Meir Mali and other people. Great Yiddish civilization was totally destroyed by Germans.

the music, besides being unneccessary and cartoonish, is much too loud. why must all these films have ersatz klezmer and shmaltzy violin? its a documentry, not a rock video...can we hear the .guy's voice plz?

I’m with you on that. The music detracts. But it’s their video, so they can do what they want. Too bad, it kinda ruined this man’s story telling.

For him it was the shtetl. It is not a new fashion, it is what the Jews always called the towns.
