I'm so glad you showed how to pick the bottom thread tail up to the top so that you can bury both at once! I learned to bury thread tails from one of your previous videos but didn't catch on about bringing them both up to the top. I've been doing them separately for my ending spots so the technique you showed will save a lot of time. Thank you! You are seriously an amazing teacher!

I had planned to watch all the videos but had been watching only the ones for the mosaic quilt. Thanks for the reminder that the Log Cabin videos will be helpful with both quilts!

Yep, I organized the videos so you could practice on Mosaic blocks, then quilt the design on a really big quilt! Lots of quilting goodness all around!

I’d like to use this on my quilt but I’d like to stop at the sashing. How would I do that?
@LeahDay
Жыл бұрын
One idea would be to draw the spiral on your quilt and when you hit the sashing, plan to travel stitch in the ditch or echo ditch to the next line. Drawing the design or having a plan is a great idea for taking the guess work out of placing it and starting quilting!

Love how clean and organized this looks! I might have to frame this and hang it in my house. People would feel so good they won't notice my mess! I need a life!!! Ha ha

LOL! It is a very peaceful design. I've been tempted to make a mandala with just straight line quilting for meditation. I'm needing to quiet my mind too!

Love your teaching tutorials you are always so thorough. When using the walking foot what stitch length do you use? Thank you need to order your book.
@LeahDay

I set my stitch length to 1.5 mm when walking foot quilting usually. When I have minky fabric on the back like I have with this quilt project, I bump that up to 2.5 mm.

Leah, thanks for another great tutorial. What stitch length are you using here?

I have minky cuddle fabric on the back so I have my stitch length set to 2.5 mm. When I have regular cotton fabric on the back I use a 1.5 mm stitch length.

you are great,your quilt also very nice.but my is my domestic sewing mashin please help me. 1. how to control mashin speed 2. which is use number of needal for quilt 3. which is the number of threed tention please help me😢

I am happy to help! 1. the key to controlling your machine speed is practice. Press the foot pedal lightly and try to move your hands slowly to match with the speed. It takes time and practice so cut small squares of fabric and batting to quilt first. 2. I quilt with a Schmetz Universal 80/12 needle. Please use the needle you usually use in your machine. It usually works just fine. 3. I usually leave my tension alone. If your tension is set right for piecing, it should be working fine for quilting!
