Thank you for your comment. This neighborhood is being gentrified, but the buildings are renovated in the same style, at least on the side streets. But along the shore the new condos will be modern, targeting the younger crowds.

Lived in the St-Henri/Cote St. Paul area by the Lachine canal for 10 years... a nice "up and coming" working-class neighbour like the populated Plateau area before it became famously known as Le Plateau today. Great selection of eateries from simple take-outs to serious foodie restaurants (pre-pandemic). Walking distance amazing area

@@GermanKorb That's awesome, so looking forward to that, I have my eye on the Galdin condos and this neighborhood seems very nice. Can't believe almost missed this video! Btw, is your first name really 'German'? Does that mean you are German? It's pretty cool and if so, so German!😊👍 Was speaking with another YT poster and he mentioned that Germans celebrate Xmas on the 24th and this period kinda goes into the 25th and 26th. Pretty cool to have an extended Xmas haha.

@@spendingtimetogether8428 I'm glad you didn't miss this video. Saint-Henri is an interesting area with buildings. Yes, German is my real name and in fact I was born in Germany, but we moved when I was one. So I'm not familiar with german traditions and the language. My name does confuse a lot of people though, especially here, in Canada. Well, I'm stuck with it for the rest of my life :)

This neighborhood is getting trendier every year. Most of these row homes were built in late 1800's and early 1900's. They are very nice!

Another great walk - some of those old buildings have wonderful character - and I love the square and the tall trees. Not much snow - or was this shot a month or so ago? Thanks for another fine tour - and all the best for the New Year!

Hi John! Thanks for your comment. I shot this video 5 days ago we had a few snow days in between, but it melts really fast. It's freezing one day and then warm the next day. So the next day looks like a wet autumn day. Saint-Henri is an historic neighborhood. A lot of these square attached houses were built for factory workers during the industrial boom.
