This is a remarkable video. Sure, it's just a seemingly random walk, and I skimmed through it here and there, but the fact that it ended up in my old neighborhood - and that I immediately recognized it after more than 15 years - is totally remarkable. The buffet/banchan shop appearing at 1:43:20 has awesome food. And the nanny of our babies owned that same building and lives on the second floor.

Anyway thanks for a great insight into a country i will never get the chance to visit due to age snd disability. Brilliant x

Wonderful of you to share this fine video! You had a hearty exercise, especially your vigorous climb of the Sinchon-Ro 28-Ma Gil with its long slope ending in very steep steps (1:31~1:35). Since you walked by this area, high rise condos have replaced many of older buildings. So, your video also serves a time capsule. In all, your stroll has delivered nostalgia, joy and happiness to me. God bless your kind heart!.

In this video I notice at the very end you were walking up a hill. I wonder where do you get all that energy from to persevere? In my younger days I loved walking a lot but as I grew older I cut back on my long walking distance.I bet all that walking keeps you fit because I can tell you were able to slide through some very narrow posts and make it without tripping. The thing about Seoul and Korea is, there are towns and villages that look old and run down from time to time, but they are not dangerous. It is nothing compared to for example, if you go to a really crappy place in the US, you know you feel like your life is in danger the moment you set foot in one of those ghetto places in the US. You don't get that here, you'll just think to yourself that this place looks a bit more run down and old compared to many other places in Seoul and Korea but at least you will not feel scared or afraid. Safety is a very big advantage. Yes of course there is crime just like any other city or country, but compared in percentage it is super low.
