Hello Relaxed Walker, I am so inspired by your videos I am seriously considering moving to NC. Though I am worried about tornados. Are they an issue? Have you been in one? Or do you not really think much about them and get on with your day? I have been creeping myself out by looking up tornados online...😵💫🌪

Tornadoes and hurricanes are not major concerns in Raleigh. While hurricanes may occasionally affect the coast, Raleigh's inland location typically only experiences power outages as a result. Hope this helps!

@@RelaxingWalks Thank you so much for your response! I feel less stressed now. I look forward to visiting NC this summer, though I would still be looking for a place with some kind of basement to run to, just in case, haha. Thank you for your wonderful videos, especially the rainy ones, they have such a cozy feel!🌧☔🧣

How many hours do you spend filming?
@RelaxingWalks

Not nearly enough. 1 hour per week on average. 40-50 hours a week is spent working a software engineering job which doesn’t leave much time for other activities.

Why do you prefer shooting in the rain?
@RelaxingWalks
5 ай бұрын
I prefer filming in the rain for several reasons, including the calming ambiance, the cozy feeling it brings, and a deeper connection to nature-attributes that are fewer when people are around. This is why I named my channel "Relaxing Walks." Filming peaceful walks without interruptions from crowds is essential to the experience I aim to create. Additionally, as an introvert, I find solitude refreshing; rain usually keeps the streets quieter and more private, which I prefer. When viewers ask, "Where are the people?" on my videos, it’s because I’ve intentionally chosen routes that are less populated, often just a bus ride away from the busier areas. Rain naturally encourages people to stay indoors, providing the perfect setting for my content. Another aspect I appreciate is the softer lighting during rainy days. The muted, darker colors are less intense and help maintain the relaxing atmosphere that aligns with the theme of my channel. Lastly, I’ve found that filming in the U.S. can sometimes attract unwanted attention, with people occasionally reacting suspiciously or even confrontationally to my camera. Rain tends to deter this, making it easier for me to film without disturbances.

Not really sure. The streets are a public space, open for everyone to enjoy in various ways, including walking, driving, or filming, without the need for individual ownership.

If you're referring to the lack of people, that's typical for the suburban areas we feature. This channel focuses on quieter, more tranquil settings, offering only a small glimpse into American life.

Why does it look like a ghost town!!! Have you filmed it during working hours?
@RelaxingWalks
5 ай бұрын
There are several reasons why the areas I film appear deserted. Primarily, I schedule my walks at times and places where few people are around to maintain the calming essence of "Relaxing Walks," as crowds tend to be the opposite of relaxing. In the U.S., living spaces and areas of activity are often distinct, with residential areas being suburban or rural and less populated. My focus is on filming neighborhoods or suburbs for their serene atmosphere. American suburbs, which I specifically select, often have regulations aimed at preserving privacy and tranquility. Here, residents are usually indoors or enjoying private activities in their backyards, like tending to gardens, swimming, or grilling. Despite the quiet neighborhoods, bustling streets, shopping centers, and urban areas are usually nearby. I carefully plan routes to avoid these busier spots because they don't align with the channel's theme. I also choose filming times when people are less likely to be outdoors, such as on workdays after most have returned home (this video), during unpleasant weather conditions like strong winds or imminent rain, further ensuring solitude. For example on this day there was 20 mph winds and approaching rain. If I do encounter people while filming, I steer the camera away from them to maintain their privacy and a tranquil viewing experience. In essence, the suburbs I film in the U.S. don't have people congregating on the streets; it's part of the local culture. Those seeking more lively environments would find them in urban zones or shopping districts, not in the quiet neighborhoods I prefer for capturing relaxing scenes. Therefore, my videos are curated slices of America, intentionally showcasing only certain aspects to evoke relaxation and are not meant to represent the entire country's dynamics.

@@Sbi_life I've read somewhere that there's nearly half a million Indians living in NC. with much of them centered around Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the Charlotte area. Keep in mind that NC is absolutely massive. Driving East to West from coast to border, at 70 mph, it takes 8 hours. That's just one of the 50 states. I lived in Texas which dwarfs NC. The USA is a huge diverse place.

@@RelaxingWalks Yes exactly! Even the US neighbourhood roads are wider than the expressways of UK and other European countries main highways😂. My brother lives in Ashville and I was there 3 month back for a short visit. When I landed in his neighbourhood I was totally shocked to see how massive it was! Indeed US is massive and I want to explore each and every part to experience its diverse culture.If every thing goes well I am planning to do east coast New York to west coast LA next year!
