You have a very good camera. Lighting and focus just right for a preview of one of our destinations later this year. I like your lack of narration so viewer hears/see sights and sound as they occur.

Thanks Doug! I've read a lot of comments on other walking tours that a lot of people prefer little to no narration, which I certainly understand.

Central Reykjavik looks like a very walkable friendly part of the city. I can sympathize with the blockhead sculpture signifying the anonymity of public service employees, since I worked for the US Federal Government for over 26 years. However, my job wasn’t boring, and for what I did was way more exciting than working for a private entity.

Cool video but I can’t help but notice that the people here don’t seem like they’re having too much fun? What is the night life like here? How was the food other than the hotdog place? Any good coffee spots?
@AndysAwesomeAdventures
Жыл бұрын
There are a few bars in the city center, so there are some nightlife choices, but I didn't really do any partying when I was there. Food was good overall but I'm no foodie. I think we ate the buffet breakfast at the two Reykjavik hotels we stayed, at so not sure about coffee spots.

Surprisingly, most of the footage is from my iPhone 12 Pro Max with a gimbal. I say surprisingly because my iPhone is hit or miss with videos and photos, so I rarely use it anymore. I use my GoPro 10 these days and a camcorder.

It fascinates me how much Iceland has changed since my first tour there in 1985. Blue Lagoon was an adventure off a side road and treacherous steps to wade from the shower into the water as clothing was optional. Beyond the showers, there were no amenities - we barracks rats loved it. Fishing and a bit of whaling were the economy. In 1994 tourism was blossoming. Was a bit saddened to see the development around the lagoon but economies must develop - very beautifully developed though.

Your video is beautiful, however the captions get in the way. Maybe ‘speak them’ and people can pick them up in the transcript OR make them smaller and off to the side. At the moment they distract from your hard work. 😊
@AndysAwesomeAdventures

Thanks for the feedback. Certain videos I put in captions, certain videos I do narration, certain videos I do both. For walking tours, some people just like hearing the natural sounds with no music or narration. Some people prefer narration and no captions. Some people prefer captions and no narration. It's a juggling act. I don't have a set rule but I do understand your concern.

Andei muito por essas ruas ! Comprei umas lembranças bem próxima da igreja maior do centro da Islândia . Essa igreja é muito linda !!! Esse som do órgão que fica bem alto é muito diferente e muito bonito. Uma dificuldade foi achar estacionamento ...... mas depois descobrimos que poderíamos deixar no estacionamento da igreja e fazíamos apé nosso passeio pelo centro . Saudades demais !!;;
