It's Day 3 and we head off to Animal Kingdom to enjoy a day planned for us by Adam which we know nothing about! On arrival Adam reveals that he has booked us all on to the Wild Africa Trek which is a behind the scenes tour of the Kilimanjaro Safari.
We have a bit of time to kill before the trek so we grab coffee and snacks from the Starbucks Creature Comforts Coffee Shop and find a secluded seating area to enjoy them behind Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Harambe.
It's time to sign in for the Trek and get fitted with our harnesses, ear-pieces and water bottles before following our guides, Logan and Regan, through the Gorilla Falls walking trail to the backstage hippopotamus feeding area. After we learn about the hippos and watch them feed we make our way to the rope bridges over the crocodile and hippopotamus enclosures.
Once safely across both bridges we meet Dom, one of the crocodile experts, and learn more fun facts before boarding our safari vehicle and heading out onto the savannah. After waiting for Mara, the naughty giraffe, to move off the track we stop at our lunch spot and viewing platform, Boma. We enjoy a tasty lunch from our tiffin canisters in the stunning and peaceful surroundings before finishing the safari and heading back to Harambe.
It's a very hot day so we put our names on the wait-list for the Nomad Lounge and browse in the Island Mercantile and Disney Outfitters stores while we wait and Luke and Daisy go to ride Everest. Once in the lounge we enjoy some cocktails and Adam tells us that there is more fun to come as he has booked us tickets to see Cirque du Soleil, Drawn to Life, in Disney Springs later in the evening.
There's time to fit in a ride before our early dinner reservation so we head to Dinoland U.S.A to ride Dinosaur then take a leisurely walk through Asia to get to the Yak and Yeti where we all enjoy our meal and eat far too much!
Heading out of the park, Adam provides another surprise treat with a journey back to the resort in a Minnie Van! After a quick freshen up we're off to Disney Springs for Cirque du Soleil and what a stunning and incredible show it is. We browse the merchandise in the shop and then grab some ice cream from Salt and Straw. In true Floridian style, the heavens open and we take shelter until the rain passes before catching a bus back to Pop Century.

We are Keith, Tracey, Luke, and Daisy. We have been going on family vacations to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida for over 18 years. We have stayed on International Drive, Universal Resorts, and several Walt Disney World Resorts and became Disney Vacation Club members in 2022. Inspired by seeing other people sharing their adventures on KZitem, we decided to document our experiences too. When not in Florida we run our large B&B near Stonehenge and support Luke’s motor racing adventures in the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship. We film on a Canon G7X Mark II compact camera and edit using iMovie.
