Walter, the first time I saw you play was live at the Musikfest in Bethlehem PA. There was a down pour just when you began to play and I was under cover at the library building next to stage. The first notes you played got me down to the front of the stage pronto - rain or not. How I never heard of you before is beyond me. Especially as we are contemporaries age-wise and I'm a Jerseyite (no matter where I live). As I watched I saw you sit down and you seemed ill. It didn't stop you from playing, though. As you ended the last song I held my hand up and you placed the guitar pick in my palm. I still have it. I'm glad you are alive and kicking. Here's to 20+ more healthy years. Peace.

So glad you came through all of that Walter and I am so glad that I helped you out during that time. I never would have known about it if it weren't for my cousin Mark Bumgarner letting me know. As a guitar player myself and being in awe at your talents. I knew I had to step up and help you out. So glad that God got you through all of this and I am so glad to see you playing and touring again. God bless you and Marie.

Hi Walter! I almost died from undiagnosed Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 13. After that I went through a period of appreciation that I was still alive but was lost and felt like I was spared to have a special direction. I remember I met you and my dad explained that I was in the early days of getting into guitar and you really encouraged me to pursue it. It was one of the small moments in my life that helped me find a direction and I thank you for that. We have met a few times since. Hope you still remember me! 😂❤ Wishing you another 10 years and many more!

You touched my heart and soul! A little over a year ago I had to have a four way heart bypass surgery and while I was waiting for it and in my recovery I kept thinking of your story and and is so inspired me and gave me hope and would help with my fears. I just kept thinking what I’m going through is nothing compared to your journey and you sharing your experience strength and hope so helped me Like you I’ve also been clean and sober a long time and play a Stratocaster. BTW you gave a great lesson on how to do volume swells, still struggling though. Much peace and Love to both of you👍👍👍❤️

A cancer survivor once told me that cancer was the best thing that ever happened to her as she was given, not just the gift of life after conquering it, but the eyes with which to see the beauty of life and the heart with which to love unconditionally. The woman was the definition of an angel walking amongst us. I can’t imagine the challenges you faced. But I wonder if, in a strange way, you feel the same as she. I know in dealing with my own chronic illness that such tragedies can change one, for the better, and that too is the beauty of life. God Bless. I so hope to see you perform someday. Perhaps, in our hometown of Collingswood. You’d be the ultimate headliner for Porchfest. Life changing experiences aside, you’re a helluva blues man. ‘Nuff said.

So good to hear you are doing well Walter . I have hereditary hemochromatosis to put in normal language. My body produces a lot of iron red blood cells and it has done a lot of damage to my liver. But I have a handle on it now and my body is healing. I’m also very thankful for every day, I’ve been recording new music. The swelling in my hands have has went away, I’m able to get around the fretboard again. It’s a beautiful thing. I’m glad you’re doing so good love and peace.

Great guitarist, songwriter and such a great guy! Such a great new album as well. And seen him live in Leverkusen few years ago. There´s not many guitarists out there which I admire... Blackmore, Gallagher, Monte M, and Walter is surely in my Top 10. Regarding the transplantation, it would be the time to understand where it came from that the liver stopped doing its work for "unknown" reasons... There are the "newly" discovered (in the 90´s) so called 5 biological laws of nature. And they´re laws, and not coincidences. And such a liver failure comes 100% from the feeling of starvation for whatever reasons earlier in life (not necessarily a food issue itself). When the organ is going down, it´s actually the healing stage in the body. I´m sure Walter would get the connection/connecting the dots, when reading this. Back then, 10 years ago, I didn´t have this information and was also wondering where this came from out of nowhere, but having this information on how a body and soul is working actually, and knowing of these simples laws, it makes life easier. When the hip is damaged because someone can´t stand through something (financial, divorce, whatever), it hit me in the stomach... Then there´s the hear attack in men when they loose their territory (wife, job, etc.). If people would see the pattern of heart attacks, shortly after being retired, they would be astonished. All the best!!

You guys are so beautiful together. Ten years, wow.. it seems like yesterday in my mind. I remember seeing a picture of Walter at his worst right before the transplant, and he looked so bad... and here you are, ten extra years of life in which you spread joy to so many people around the globe. Here's hoping for many more years to come! ❤️

I just entered re the Billboard News for Broken. I hope it's not the first time - but I hope you say one for... 'The Giver' (🤔use it). Got/Get the Bio info, work around the details in verses with the Solos. I can hear it already and the Top 10 Anniversary - if that name is Annie or Mary or something like that, it's pre- determined to be written down in your own hand! 👌👍
