Great stuff Robert. Incase I have missed something, how is polarity managed when turning passed 180 degrees during the truntable rotation??
@csxmad
3 жыл бұрын
Gary the turntable changes this as it turns. And this is why there is a dead spot on the turn table, which cuts out power for a couple of seconds and then turns back on. Hope this answered your question cheers Robert

So the round house has individual switches for track power with an indicator light and each individual bay has its own overhead lighting with a switch and each individual pit has it’s own lighting with a switch. Simply brilliant! I am amazed and Edison would be proud. Great work, Robert, as usual. Would a keep alive in the loco cover the time of the dead spot on the turntable?

Hi I just installed a Walthers Cornerstone 90' Turntable DCC, I just figured out a problem I was having my Engines all short circuit when entering the Bridge. Found out that the Bridge Track is DC I run DCC So I believe my Power Adapter is casing the problem. I see you used a step up module do you have a part number for the one you used? Also it was unclear where the setup connected to on both ends I believe on the turntable to contacts C and D but where on the command station I run NCE here too. Thanks Tom
@csxmad
2 жыл бұрын
Thomas, thanks for the comment. Now i know nothing about dc but will try and help out. I don't think your power Adapter is the problem, i would swap the wires around and this may help with your short circuit when entering the bridge? And D and C go's to power and B and A straight to you bus lines, no wires to the NCE Command Station. Another idea is you my need a Auto Reverser to change polarity. And the step up module you connect the first two wires from your adapter to the in section of the module and two wires from the out section to the D and C wires, and the module just google this and heaps will show up, hope this helps cheers Robert

Question; the track to the turntable for example; right track Red wire, left track Black wire. Turntable track is wired, how to insure you don't short out the system when the locomotive rolls on to the turn table and then the Roundhouse track is wired, Red left, right black which in this example you turned the locomotive around to back in which made everything coposyedic. Now you roll back out and want to run the locomotive straight off the turntable on to the feed in track which will reverse polarity shorting out the system. How can I prevent that from happening? .
@csxmad
4 жыл бұрын
As long as your track is wired the way you have said, you want short out the track, the bridge is doing the reverse polarity for you. Depending on what turntable you use, you may have to use a reverse module to the bridge to do the correct polarity for you, hope this helps cheers Robert

I have asked this question before but if you could humor me. At 8:20 of this video loco enters roundhouse and then rolls back out of roundhouse. My question is how does polarity reverse itself inside the roundhouse track?
@arahollisian5169
Жыл бұрын
How do you change the polarity from tracks in roundhouse
@csxmad

The bridge will change polarity for you as long as you have wired the tracks in the roundhouse the same as coming into the turntable cheers

@@csxmad Still confused on the polarity issue. On your video you have loco entering turntable then rotating less than half revolution then enter roundhouse and immediately exit roundhouse. Are you manually switching the polarity?
@csxmad
Жыл бұрын
@@arahollisian5169 No not manually switching. The bridge is doing the polarity for the loco's just like a auto reverser. and there is a dead spot on the turntable that changes the polarity. You will notice if the loco go's a full 360 turn your loco will lose power at a certain part on the turntable. So if you have a sound loco and spin this 360 you will lose sound in the loco for about a second cheers
@arahollisian5169
Жыл бұрын
@@csxmad I totally understand the dead spot changing the polarity. But your video shows loco entering the turntable, then rotate less than a quarter revolution, then loco enters roundhouse in the same direction as it entered the turntable and now once in the roundhouse the loco reverses direction to enter back onto the turntable. My question is how are you reversing the direction of the loco?
@csxmad
Жыл бұрын
@@arahollisian5169 As i said the bridge is your auto reverser, you don't have to do a full lap around, and the tracks all have gaps so they are all not joined to the bridge hope this helps
