Thanks for promoting yoga. There are ardh Aasanas , that means starters should start small and easy ones first. For this aasan as well, first try to develop shoulder strength/flexes by putting gradual load of your legs.

I’ve been doing yoga for 8 years now. I can’t do any difficult pose. All this time I’ve been practicing only with KZitem videos, never had an instructor. I was scared to do some of the poses on my own. There was a point when I could to a handstand and a craw but now I only have somewhat of a good stretching(if I warm up really well, I can do a split). But that’s it. I know yoga is not only about that and I do use yoga to wake up in the morning and relax sometimes, to find peace within myself. But at the same time I feel like I’ve accomplished nothing over those past 8 years

Imho, you cannot do any yoga and improve as a beginner just from videos, books etc. There's too much risk of doing poses wrong and injuring you! It's always best to join live yoga classes with an experieced teacher who fits you and your preferred yoga style. Try it, you will see such a difference!🙏🕉

Thank you for all of your amazing tips ❤ I can do crow pose easily, but when I go to lift one leg away, putting all of my weight on one arm is so painful! I bruise so bad. Any tips at all would be greatly appreciated!

I nailed it by putting my knee into my tricep lifting my leg and finding a good mudra on the floor to focus on 🕉️☯️

You shouldn’t technically have your weight on your arms. It should be a balanced feeling. I do it with my knees lower on my elbows and a bit wider

Plus. My femur is super long. Out of proportion with a long torso so my body doesn’t line up the same as hers does.

single leg crow from classic crow is the hardest entry. try coming into it from a down dog > squeeze the knee in, just above the elbow > lean forward, think chaturanga arms > slowly start to play with lifting the back leg > keep leaning forwards > trust your fingertips.

The biggest thing that helped me is that you don't think of it as going down, but as going FORWARD. It's not a case of moving the head down and the legs up, but of moving both head and legs forward onto your arms

I’ve been able to do crow since I can remember. Probably gymnastics when I was 5-9 years old. I have extremely strong arms and hands. I just saw this and tried to lift a knee. FACEPLANT! how long will it take on average to learn an advanced pose like this? I used to walk around on my hands since age 6. Like walk. For a long time. So I know I’ve got it in me. I refuse to use being 39 in 4 days and not in the best shape. Almost my best shape of my life. As an excuse

It just depends. Could take days or weeks. Just have to work towards building strength, balance, and most of all BODY AWARENESS. Then one day, you’ll just find yourself there. Most likely when you least expect it.
