This explains why the Air Force ghosts college graduate applications. So gross for the recruiter to not be transparent. Just say in the email or return a phone call and state Air Force is not accepting applications for officer school. Ghosting is vile.

More than 100 airmen of color have bravely written to me with their HORROR stories dealing with racism, discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment and so much more. A book is on its way and I also plan on revealing full names and ranks to the news agencies. How dare you hurt the people of Puerto Rico and treat us like DOGS!? A1C Markivee - said the N word countless times in a PA office SSGT Horton - would also say the N word and very violent during PT trying to hurt the people he did not like. TSGT Robert Webb- tried to sexually molest me and another girl in my office. Senior Master SSGT Michael Jackson - knew all about these thing. Did nothing Major Brian Maguire - knew all these things, did nothing I finally reach out to MSGT Jones and OSI joins the fray! Your lead civilian in public affairs I caught him recording saying behind my back “he should just buy a woman’s magazine”. They send me to 3 mental faculties and wouldn’t you know…my testimony is invalid! Do NOT join the US Air Force IF you are a person of color.

Is it better to do rotc or go to ots after school? What is the % rate of acceptance from civilian world to ots?
@toffytofu3891

Depends on the Position. But generally the acceptance rate is really low for OTS. ROTC is a lot more guaranteed, but it involves being in ROTC for 4 years. Depends what you want.

Year late, but most people recommend reenrolling into college in hopes of participating in their ROTC program. Green to Gold, is considered very difficult, because it opens up a new can of worms for you to deal with. Regarding sending your package to a superior and dealing with a chain of command, there's a lot more politics that it seems to involve.

Man that's so long for OTS. I see why many just give in to go Army OCS. End up being a 1LT by that point and 2-3 years of your 20 done already. Also, it is extremely competitive to get into OTS here in the Southwest US. Couple non medical Officer slots basically with 100s applying.

According to a FOIA request, AD averages a slightly worse selection rate than civilians but not by much (~2-8%). The bigger problem is the hoops needed to jump through while on AD. That’s what makes the application process particularly difficult for AD.

I can’t thank you enough for this video. Congratulations on your pilot slot. I am 34 and pursuing OTS pretty aggressively. I hope it’s not too late for me and I can somehow receive a waiver. I am studying for the AFOQT and down about 25 pounds training physically. I am really thinking rated position but I know my age and having no prior military experience does not help my case. Any other tips for a guy my age trying to chase OTS?

I'm the Air Guard you can apply for officer each year you're in and can get commissioned so long as you can still serve 10 years as an officer. Basically that means so long as you have time to retire. Not that you have to serve that long, just could if you chose and they need you.

@@RyGriff Welcome. I'm not sure as for the pilot age except the fact that most positions are a bit more lax so long as you are squared away. Waivers are a factor regardless though.
